Has anyone ever ran barrels with a cast on their wrist?

I rode with no issues but didn't actually compete since I broke it over winter.

I broke my left wrist two winters ago. Hard to intially get into the saddle, but never had any issues riding.

Yes. I was young at the time and on a fairly automatic horse.

Yes. not young here. But my wrist was only cracked and I waited about 3-4 weeks because my mare really drops on the front end on the first barrel and I need to push myself back aggressively. But then again, I tend to heal fast. Was only officially restricted for less than 3 weeks after my appendix was removed this past February.
You need to evaluate your injury, your horse and your ability to know how far you can push yourself without further injury.

I would have if I had a horse running and someone to saddle the horse. I broke 3 bones in my wrist earlier this summer.

I ran at the world show a few years ago with a broken leg. The announcer kept making comments about someone there running with a broken pinky and way to cowboy up. Lol

is it a cast or one of the black things with straps. you need to be able to grab the horn to balance and also grab and hold the reins.
