I like mine, but yes you have to place it correctly, it will sit farther up than you are used to. Like your saddle and pad should line up in the back. Only pad that doesn't rub my horses withers and I've tried them all.

I bought my CSI because my 2nd roping saddle doesn't fit my backup horse very well. It did take some getting used to to put the pad up forward so much but it works. All the other pads didn't offer any relief from a slightly narrow saddle. I can tell that there is still some localized pressure but not like with wool only pad.

i like my equipedic pad with my well fitting caldwell. It worked pretty well with a saddle that was not quite the right fit until I got the caldwell.

If you bought the CSI new, I believe there is a 30 day money back guarentee. Check it out. May want to consider using a Saddleright Pad. You can PM me forany info you might want on the Saddlerights.
Second the Saddleright! I have one for each horse and loooooove them. If you stalk FB you can catch a good deal on a used one!
