Bought a Horseware Mio flysheet and my horse rubbed it to pieces while turned out (there's a stupid wire part of the fence--not entirely his fault).   It lasted all of three days.  I think if I only used it while stalled it would last longer.  What sheets do you guys like?

I think at this point I'll bag the fly sheet idea for now but come next year I'll start it early so he doesn't even get itchy and start rubbing in the first place.  I really liked the design of this sheet I got but needed it to be more durable!!

Is it the softer mesh or the stiffer mesh?

Mine is still rubbing so I think this season is a no-go but trying to think ahead for next season.  I did like how I didn't have to drench him in fly spray....

It isn't stiff, but it isn't super soft like the Amigo Mio's are, its a heavier duty. I have the Mio's too and only put them on my old man, that noone messes with so it doesn't rip lol

I have the Weatherbeeta. She's worn it off and on for 2 summers now. No problems with it ripping.

Do you know if you have the dura-mesh, the rip shield or the airflow? I've researched this so much that Ivr memorized all the options....bah!!!

I just sold a Weatherbeeta Airflow, and it always made my horse sweaty. I also have a Weatherbeeta Genero, it's OK, nice and light. Seems like it would rip so I don't use it all that often, and will throw it on a horse that won't get picked on or wreck it.

I get the SStack . com mosquito netting ones because it is stiffer and doesn't cause as much sweat down here in LowerAlabama. I had a Saxon a few years ago that was more cottony material and caused sweat pretty bad. I sold it before i saw how well it would hold up.

Love my bug busters and smartpak rockin  SP deluxe flysheets. My horses live in them. I've had a few of my sheets for 3+ years. I agree that you need to start before they get those terrible itches. They will rub any sheet to pieces if they are itchy.
ETA: Benedryl will help them stop itching and bathe them with a shampoo that soothes the skin. If you still wanna give it a go this summer.

I have two Weatherbeeta Airflow ones. Never had a problem with sweating, but they do rip easy. I spent 4 hours hand stitching one back together. On the plus side, they rip clean and straight, so it was easy to stitch lol.

If I were to order again, I'd get the duramesh ones.
