Long story short, I just recieved a saddle I bought off ebay in "great" condition.  Which it is minus one piece, and I cant figure out what the piece is called to order a new one.  Its a cactus saddle, and the piece of leather/rubbery material that the blevin slides into that goes threw the saddle is shredded at the top right where it comes out.  Can any one tell me what that piece is called?  Its NOT part of the fender so im not sure what to order or where to look

There is a Blevins BUCKLE. Are you talking about the stirrup leathers?

Im currently at work and dont have a picture on me.  Ok Im thinking I had a slight lapse in my brain this morning   I believe it is corret that its the actual stirrup leather.  So do I need to buy whole new fenders?  The lining to it seems to be in tact, but the cactus saddle has a rubbery material over the top and the rubber is whats shredded.  Is this something I should worry about breaking easily? Or can I just trim the leather off and leave as is? Ill post pictures tonight if I can remember how to size them

It dont have this piece?  You need to post a picture are post a picture of a saddle showing us what part you are talking about. Its really hard to understand what you could be talking about. The only thing I ever see missing on saddles is the hobble straps that help keep the stirrup in place. Are the keepers. I'm puzzled

I have never seen the ones like Cactus makes, but of course I have never looked for them in particular. I have seen the leather replacement, I know smith brothers sells them. Maybe call cactus if you what the biothane covered ones? You'd need to have it either stitched or riveted to your fender to replace it.

Oh ok when you said minus, I thought it was missing. I thought if it were a stirrup leather that she was talking about how in the world could it be missing, lol..  Find a good saddle repair shop and have them change out both of the stirrup leathers. I bought a Double J a few years back and it had the same problem had the biothane that was coming apart so had both of them changed out to all leather.

Any saddle shop should be able to make a replacement part and do the repair.  You will probably want to have both sides done.

Agree with SC Wrangler!
Support your local saddle maker. Take it in and have him replace both sides...He'll have the proper grades of leather to match it.
I'd also have the saddle shop go through and clean it and reline the sheepskin if needed...
since he'll have it apart anyway.

Our saddle Maker here in town charges $125 to redo leathers. But he also cleans them while he has them.
