| Do any of you know roughly how many minutes you would trot or lope that equals a mile? |

when i galloped racehorse a 2 minute mile was a hand gallop not a breeze but not a gallop long trot i would think 6 minutes |

| There is a cool app on iPhone called EquiTrack. I think it's $7.99. It'll track distance, avg speed, top speed, current speed, heart rate and energy. It's pretty cool. |

    Location: Deep South | I had to rehab a couple of horses before in long straight lines at a lope, had to do 2 miles per day. My vet told me approx 4 minutes would equal a mile. I clocked it the first couple of days and it was pretty spot on. |

    Location: Smack Dab in the Middle | Takes me about 10-12 minutes to jog 2 miles ponying off the ATV. But, I start very slow, increase gradually over the first 1/2 mile to about 9-10 mph, then maintain another 1/2 mile. First 1/2 of the second mile I make him stretch out and long trot about 12-14 mph, then back down to about 8 mph for the last 1/2 to cool down a bit before we get home. So it will all depend on how you do it. |
