| I use both on some horses. Pentosan bi monthly but will use poly 3 days before a big weekend of racing if I have a horse with pretty severe arthritis. I like both ! |

It will certainly work night before but Me and a few others have found that it makes our horses VERY FRESH feeling for about 3 days after giving it. SO I do it no sooner than 3 days before a run. But If I had a horse that really needed a pick me up, I would give it sooner to race day. |

Location: Georgia | How much do you give Flitastic? I am currently giving pentosan every 3 weeks and was doing legends 3 days before a show but that is too expensive. |

Legend is only effective for 24 hours so giving it any sooner really is counter productive. Legend reaches maximum effect in 12 hours and lasts 12 hours. So If I use legend and I have a morning run, they get it evening before. If its a night race, they get it early that morning. On the poly, I use half a vial per dose, so 5cc IV>
With Pentosan Gold I did the loading dose of 6cc weekly for 4 weeks then I use it as needed. One of my horses tells me when its time. Usually every 2 weeks. I have a colt that gets it monthly.

How long does the freshness last? I have one that was fine 3 days after giving it, I gave him a couple days rest because I was busy and then saturday and sunday he was so so fresh. like ridiculously fresh. I rode him the day after I gave it and he was fine. Is this normal? |

I have not had Pentosan make a horse fresh. BUT poly makes them fresh 24 hours after dose and lasts about 3 days total. They just FEEL GOOD. |
