| So my fiancé and I just started going to the chiropractor for ourselves. I've had my horses worked on for a long time but, typical, always neglected myself.
Fiancé has been having carpel tunnel like symptoms at night, shooting pain etc. At the advice of his boss we tried chiro before the regular doctor. No or only very little carpel tunnel, but a pretty messed up neck. He's got a ways to go but he's sleeping through the night now and no more shooting pain.
Me? If you'd showed me my back X-ray and I didn't know it was my back, I would never have guessed that the person it belonged to was as mobile as I am. I drive a lot and sit at a desk but I never guessed I was out that bad. My neck is pretty screwed up too and my ankle was out on the same leg my knee always gives me issues.
I am EXCITED about how good I might feel in the coming weeks. Cur-ost has made a big difference in my aches and pains but this could be huge. I'm too young to feel this **** old.
So I highly recommend finding a good chiropractor  |

| I have worked for a Chiropractor for the last 6 years, I am thrilled for you that you found chiropractic releif. I myself will only get adjusted when neeeded, one story that I have hear over and over thru the years is that they had been to a "BAD" Chiropractor and ultimately it ruined them from finding a good one. Maintenanced Chiropractic Care is just plain smart for your body. Good For You OhMax!!

| I feel very comfortable with him. Right off the bat for both of our sets of symptoms we did X-rays to make sure the manipulation would make it better not worse. That alone is different from others I've visited over the years.
He worked on show calves for a long time when his kids showed before the vets got cranky about it - we had a fun conversation about babying our animals and neglecting ourselves.

I can't believe that I am in agreement with 1D, but yes, they are salesman. I went to a chiropractor every month for 5 years believing he was helping me. Only to finally get an MRI on my neck and realized that he was only helping the symptoms, not the cause. I have mild stenosis on the left side of my neck. Facet injections made me feel 20 again. But didn't last. Hopefully the rhizotomy lasts longer. I am finally getting two hour ride in. |

| Chiropractors are just like MD's- there are good, bad and excellent ones. There are so many types of chiropractors now, too. Not all use manual manipulation. |

Chandler goes to a chiropractor every few months. He's too young to have the back pain he has, but ever since he was 12 he's worked like a dog right along side the men on the farm, and it's creating issues now. Anyway, I love Carrie----she spends so much time with him and tells him that he'll know when he needs to come back. He thinks the world of her. And I was shocked at how reasonable the cost is. I'm thinking Momma may treat herself for Christmas! |

Location: LaBelle, Florida | I go for myself on a monthly basis. LOVE my chiropractor.
I have 2 aeas of my back that will NOT stay in...between my shoulder blades (horse snatched me out the back of the trailer), my lower hip area (from giving birth). I sit a desk all day, so that doesn't help muscle tightness or keeping correct posture.
I also get my supplements from him.
My doc is NOT a salesman, which I really like about him. He always just says you will know if/when you need to come back. I hear him say the same thing to patients in the next room as well.
I have been going to him for about 15 years now.
What initially sold me on him was my first visit. I have a bum knee that according to the ortho will need a full replacement at some point. Told everything to the chiro...he checked it and adjusted it....I stood up with NO pain after having to hobble around for weeks with my brace on just to walk.
Just like anything else, not all chiro's are created equal. |

Location: Phoenix | I've been to my fair share of salesman chiropractors. I was in some serious pain and was new to the area. I went to a guy that had good reviews on Yelp. He did the X-ray and adjusted me and then laid how how he could use all my insurance visits. -_- I didn't even feel better! I've been to the Chiro enough to know how many visits I would need to feel relief. No relief whatsoever. Agreed to come back next day. Still no relief. When I called to cancel my third appointment with receptionist, the CHIRO called back and was very rude and weird about me cancelling. I felt like I was breaking up with someone!
I now see a guy who is FANTASTIC and begs me NOT to come unless I think I need it. He's a cool cat and I experience relief instantly. |

Location: Idaho | I have been exceptionally blessed with good chiropractors. You really need to find a GOOD one. I broke my back in 2013, I didn't need surgery but I couldn't even walk it hurt so bad. My chiro had me walking and back to work in a month.
Since I moved to a different state, I once again did research and found a highly recommended one. He is kind of pricey even with insurance, but I usually go see him every 3-6 months. It also helps with my migraines, I used to get them a LOT but once I started getting adjusted they went away. My neck is actually pretty straight, where it the spine is supposed to curve to allevitae the pressure from holding up my head, but it does not so my discs getting compressed. But adjustments does amazing for that!
I did find a couple chiro's that wanted to adjust me without getting any Xrays! I was like.. um, nope! Lol So glad you're getting help though, a good chiro can make a world full of difference! |

Location: Canada | I personally believe that chiropractic and massage therapy works but you need to understand the underlying condition.
I have horrible back pain. It's caused by tight muscles in my hip flexors etc. Massage therapy helps when I haven't stretched or done the other exercises that I need to to keep th pain away. It's a wonderful temporary solution to a long term problem.
I feel the same about horses. I'm happy to have a chiropractor or massage therapist work on my horses. But when they say they're "out" somewhere I want to know why so I can fix it manage the underlying condition so that it doesn't become a long term problem. |

Location: North Dakota | I have used various chiropractors over the years. I usually don't go in unless I have a specific problem. I never had much success with chiropractors. Sometimes I'd feel better when I left; but most times I would feel worse and it didn't help at all.
UNTIL I started going to the gal I see now. I don't know why she is so different from the others, but she always fixes things I didn't think possible for a chiro adjustment to fix. So I think there is something to be said for finding a chiro that "works" for you. I am amazed by her! It sheer proof that (for example) when I go in and cannot bend even the slightest toward my toes, and immediately after the adjustment I can touch my toes without pain, you know she is doing something right.
My chiro is most definately NOT a salesman. She's honest and she'll tell you what she thinks you need; no more no less.
Glad that you have found a chiro that works well for you and your hubby!!

My little girl was born at home but has hip dysplasia. At the advice of my midwife I took her to a Chiro. She wouldn't latch on one side during "dinner" time. Turns out she has hip dysplasia and her hip was out of place from her being so long and me being so short torsoed.
Anyway, She started Chiro at 3 days old and I've started going too. I pair it with massage and I've never felt better. Baby has had zero issues with her hips. Took a few visits a week to keep her in and she had to wear a brace for a while but now you would never know she has it. We now go about once or twice a month. Only $25 copay for me and baby is only $20 cash pay. Worth it.  |
