I'm in the market for a used Caldwell and noticed very few of them have back cinches on them.  For those of you that ride in these, do you use a back cinch?  Why or why not?

If I wanted to add one, where did you get yours?

I always use back cinch. I have bought Caldwells that had them or didn't. Always just ordered for the ones that didn't. Caldwell back cinches are LONG though, Way long.

I buy them when I order my Caldwells.  Both of mine have them.  One horse uses  one, the other does not, he hates it.

I have always used back cinches on my caldwells. I would suggest finding one somewhere else- very pricey from Caldwell.

I just got my caldwell a couple months ago. I ordered a back cinch with mine. When I talked to Charon, she said us people on the "west" all order them. The people in the "east" really don't. lol But that is why several used probably don't have them.

This is true.
A lot of the time if you ask a saddle company to throw in a cinch they will. You don't always have to pay for it. They have enough room in the price of the saddle that they can afford to throw a cinch in for free.  Especially since it usually only costs them about $20 to have one amde.

I added one to mine, I bought it used and there was not one.  If you are looking for a Caldwell TG 14.5" it is for sale included rear cinch.

Do you have a ad up so we can see it? I dont need another one but like looking at the Caldwells, they are really nice saddles.

The Caldwell front riggings are further back than a lot of barrel saddles due to the "on the shoulder" premise their trees are made with. So, even though I'm a back cinch user myself, I have gone without on some Caldwell's and don't really fret about it. If a saddle has a more forward rigging design, like a 7/8", then I would worry about it more than I do with a Caldwell.

This. I've always ridden with a back cinch but since getting my Caldwell I've noticed I can get by without one due to all these reasons.

Anyone know why they won't take trades on double J saddles? Or the other brands?

Oh wow, I wouldn't think that since they're so popular right now (at least down here)

Wish that would have been my case when I bought mine new from Charon! I had to give her $250 for a plain leather one and another $20 to ship! Quite the sticker shock.
