Location: Weatherford, TX | I saw a colt in the BFA Sale Catalog that I like. However, I know nothing about Firewater Finale. The Dam of this colt is by Fury Of The Wind. He is APHA...I guess because of the bottom side of the dam. He is a big, golden dark palomino colt. And he is a yearling coming two. Like I said, I know nothing of the stud. Thanks for any help.
ETA...I did do a year search on BHW threads and couldn't find much.

| They are really nice horses. I've owned 4 or 5 and they all had really nice minds, user friendly and want to please. I have a coming 2 year old now that is just incredible. So extremely intelligent but uses it wisely, laid back but has spark when asked. Just an exceptional filly so far.

| I owned one, she had the best mind. I bought her as a weanling, had her shipped to Texas. She arrived at midnight as a huge hurricane was just hitting. She had a club foot that that looked a little bit more severe than in the pictures but I couldn't get her to the vet for several days because of the hurricane. I kept telling my daughter and family don't get attached she might go back depending on what the vet says. The day of the appointment we started to load her about an hour earlier than normal thinking we might have issues but the little booger sniffed the trailer within two minutes jumped right on, I was like dang such a great mind but don't get attached. I told my daughter if she needed the check ligament surgery that we were not going to keep her, vet said she did, first words out mouth were how much would it cost, lol- I just couldn't send her back - she impressed me every day from the moment she arrived at our place. Amy and her husband were fabulous to deal with and paid for the surgery. I sold her as a three-year-old as I don't have any business working with a young horse and my girls had lost interest. Her new owner bought her sight unseen and I get updates about how this mare is everything I said she was.

Location: LuluLand~along I64 Indiana | firewater finale has a long list of barrel accomplishments and mounted shooting accomplishments. Amy and Brett are a house divided over competition events. I think you will find they are good people and you might even run into them at the BFA. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | PERFECT in every way. I have a coming 4yr old colt. I hope I get time to futurity him. He's riding really nice right now. He's out of a Shoot Yeah mare I had. He was born loving human interaction. Very playful, can't leave anything in his pen or he will carry it around and toss it over the fence or in the water tank. Turns lights on and off and has let himself out of the barn. VERY smart. I can give him 3 months off and he rides off like he has been ridden daily. He's my profile picture. |

My friend owns the colt you are talking about.
That is a really neat mare that he is out of. I jump rode her one weekend and was in love with her. The mare had a freak accident involving a cattle guard, so she was bred to Firewater Finale. I think it will be a really nice, sensible, easy cross with plenty of size & speed.
I don't know why the catalog info is incomplete on the stallion. He has over $15,000 in barrel racing earnings himself (nearly $9000 of that is EquiStat verifiable--the rest is open races and rodeos) and he's had limited foals go to the futurity arena, but the ones that have gone on, have done well for all ages and levels of riders. in addition to some nice barrel horses, he's also got several nice rope horses and mounted shooters out there competing all across the country.

| I have a couple babies by Firewater Finale.
They are the nicest, most sensible horses you will find. Our 5 yo has been ridden by my 12 yo daughter all summer. He's a gem of a horse with a great skill set. She used him for all 4-H events, did a few rodeo's on him, did the reining queen contest patterns, moves cows, you name it he can do it.
My 3 Yo is another dandy. My 8 YO daughter has been trick riding off of him this past summer and I am just now getting him started on the pattern for barrels. He is so easy to teach because he is so level headed.
These horses are so nice to be around. I think everyone needs one or two or maybe five of them!!! They seriously are that nice and that user friendly. |

| I had a gelding I raised that I sold a few years ago. He was very sensible and extremely personable. Aimed to please and he had looks to boot It sounds like his current owner has no plans of ever letting him go. She hasn't done a ton of barrels on him, but he makes it fun for her when they do go.
My sister is competing on one that she also raised. She likes the mare and is doing well in the arena.
