My 4 yo gelding kicked up at his belly when I went to cinch him up this weekend. 3 days in a row. This is a new thing. The 1st time I thought maybe he was just being a jerk to the horse tied beside him. Couldn't tell for sure if he kicked up at his belly or out at the other horse. The next 2 times he for sure kicked straight up at the cinch. Ulcers? What else could it be?

Also, he's having loose stools. When we first got him we fed 1 1/2 lbs Renew Gold, but he lost weight so we added 4lb Bluebonnet Omega Force. Seemed to be doing good on that at first. Gained weight. But he started getting loose stools. Then we had to work on our horse shed, so we had to run all the horses together for a month or so. We have some easy keepers that don't get grain, so they all just got alfalfa hay and mineral block. Wasn't riding that much during that time, so weight stayed on this horse. No loose stools on only hay. It's been another month now, and we've put this horse back on 4lbs Omega Force and 1 lb rice bran pellets. Now he's started to get loose stools again. Our worming program is every 2 months on rotation per vet recommendation. He's up to date on that. Grain changes were all gradual. Omega Force has a NSC% of 16, so I'm having a hard time thinking this feed is the problem, but it seems to be. Suggestions? Related to uclers?

I would assume there is something bothering him if he went from not doing it to doing it. You could start him on the meds or stop by the vet to confirm it isn't something else first.

It sounds like a possibility. I would start him on THE GastroPLUS. This helped my horse with ulcers and loose stool.
