Looking at a 2 yr old with a small splint, I plan on doing a vet check. This colt has not been ridden hard, just got it out playing and never came up lame. What are your thoughts?

All splints I have had are fractures, I am anal so if they have bumps that don't go away in 7 days they get an X-ray.

I would X-ray it

The horse in my avatar popped a splint on each front leg as a yearling. My vet put his magic potion on them and they disappeared. Never have come back and never caused a problem. He is 13 now.

Splints usually don't cause a issue

It depends on where it's at.

Was it Dr Mitchell?

If the lameness exam came back clean a splint doesn't bother me much.
