The only treeless I've ridden in was a Circle Y JBN which, despite the many issues I've seen with them on here, I absolutely loved. How does a Bob Marshall compare to that? The JBN was quite sturdy like a tree'd saddle and extremely stable on my horses' backs. I was also able to keep my feet underneath me but didn't feel like they forced my feet back. It rode fantastic for my horse and I, do any of you have input?

I've had both. The Bobs ride completely different. I liked the JBN till it was broken in and then it started twisting. It felt like my stirrups were getting longer and longer. The Bob has that trapped in feel. I'm used to it but I always go bigger on seat size and it works for me on these broncy sneaky colts.

I don't mind being a little "stuck" in there. Also I'll be using it with a CSI pad most likely so that might stiffen things up anyway.

I couldn't ride as well in my BM as I can in my TF (Tammy Fischer) my feet always went behind me on my bob, I know you can get them set forward but I ended up selling it. I LOVE the TF and just be natural but they are nothing like a BM. Even the Jackie is super different.

Hmm I was actually looking at, if I do order a bob, getting the stirrups set further back because I like my feet right underneath me.

Why would you have the stirrups set further back on a BM, they are all ready set under you, I have the Allison ray riggings on mine so my feet set a little further forward, if you just order a BM and you like your feet under you then they are ready to go. But if you like your feet a little further forward thats when you get the rigging set forward..

I ride in a new style BM where the rigging can be adjusted. I love it and I use a Saddleright pad. Ive heard mixed reviews using a CSI with them. They are either perfect, or they roll. But they could be becuse they have the thicker one?

I've heard mixed reviews too but I think some horses are just more prone to rolling and yeah, if they're using the thicker liner that might cause issues.

Wow they changed things up since I last ordered my BM, that chart is cool. My last saddle I ordered was in 6/2/2016, never saw this chart that you posted.. Been thinking of ordering another one, I have a very short backed gelding and my square skirt is really long on him, so I need to ride him in it a bit more and make sure a BM is the way to go for him befor I order another one. The thing you need to ask if you do order one is how long the shirt is, the bigger the seat size the longer the skirt, I ride in a 15.5 and the skirts are kinda long. Looks good on my big gelding but looks silly on the short backed one, so need a round skirt for him. I like how that chart shows how the stirrups hang. I like the forward stirrups..

I ride with my feet directly under me as well but my BM made them go way back, I never took the time to get them adjusted I just liked the way the TF felt and the stirrups sat perfect. It is higher in the front which is an adjustment but I'm getting used to it.

I use 100% wool pad under mind and have never had any issues with rolling.

Next time I get to a place with a real tack store I'll have to sit in one.
