Something for me to think about but then the shipping charges run up since I am inΒ NJ.Β
Shipping is $45. They have a lot of used Martin's in your price range. To ship back it would be about the same amount of money.
Ammerman's don't come in that wide of a gullet... |

Location: British Columbia | I ride in Crown C's, and have used the wider gullets (up to 9" for wider mutton withered horses).
Their quality is second to none, and you an buy them used for great prices. I find most people don't quite understand how to shim or how to fit them, so they roll with the bigger gullets on horses that don't necessarily need them, so they sit on the market for a while.
If you have the opportunity to try a CROWN C with a wider gullet, I would! :)

Good point! Like I stated earlier I did try the Martin Cervi 7 in gullet on him and it seemed to fit pretty good.
Anyone in the market for a real pretty Cactus Marlene?? |

I dont know what brand that top saddle is, but the middle one is a Reinsman and the bottom one is a Sharon camarillo, these are not my saddles I just found these to show the types of dropped riggings there is.. I do have the Deb Sibleys and they have dropped rigging's to and love them. I love the dropped riggings, they help the saddles to be a bit more stable.

No, Ammerman will not fit unless you have him use a custom tree. |

| I totally agree.
I don't like to ride in anything but a Martin anymore.
I have a collection of Martin saddles now...including two Crown C's.
I find that the Martin's fit everything--even a very round mutton withered mare I have.
The best thing about the Martin's is that the saddles stay in place even without a breast collar and a tight cinch. |

On Dream horse/tack trader there is a Martin Iron Horse with the dropped riggin. It fit my mutton withered horse really well. It didn't roll on him at all. |

On Dream horse/tack trader there is a Martin Iron Horse with the dropped riggin. It fit my mutton withered horse really well. It didn't roll on him at all. I loved the Martin Ironhorse I had, loved that droped rigging, fit my big boy really nice never had a issue with rolling with that one but the only thing I didnt like was the swells were so low on it and I like the higher swells. If the swells would have been taller I would have never sold that saddle.

If you have access--i would fit whichever saddle you decide on, to your pony's back.
My mare was mutton withered short backed and wide hipped :0|
Tried several. Gave up the fight :0/
Finally had one made to fit her.
From the naked wood tree to finished fit.
FYI- I also used a 3/4" Tod Sloan wool pad
and a professional choice neoprene front girth.
Also a leather back girth. Not dangling on the belly but snug to keep saddle down on the back when turning.
Breast collar helps keep saddle from sliding.
These helped w slippage during our runs. |

Location: OK | You might check out the Robbie Phillips, Springdale Ar. Less expensive than many and if you can check out his schedule maybe you could meet him somewhere for a saddle fit. 470-200-0995 |
