Is there a list somewhere that lists the 5 panal tests of all QH stallions that have been tested? Alot of stallion owners advertise their results yet many do not.
Second question is, who does the 5 panal testing and is it done with hair? We want to get all our mares tested.

I haven't seen 5-panel results on the AQHA website. In the ownership summary, it does show HYPP results.  I think you just have to call the association to ask.

The 5-panel test is a hair test, and UC Davis does those, I believe. I had one tested a year or two ago and I've slept since then.

I would do the testing with a kit from AQHA. In case they decide to require testing on mares it will be on their record. I did a 5-panel on our colt before we decided to leave him intact. It's just a hair test, same kit as when parentage verifying when registering foals.

Definitely contact the association (AQHA if QH's) since they each only recognize CERTAIN labs to do them (and from what I've been told, they each have their own one(s) they use).  This will save you money in the long run.  They can also tell you on any AQHA stud's 5 panel results.  Every QH stud has had to be tested in order to have registerable foals, but there are bad breeders out there that are not telling clients that.  If a person just wants to test to have their own results, Animal Genetics does it.  They are FAST with results, but not all registries will accept their results.  :(

And keep in mind, for PSSM, this is ONLY for type1 - PSSM2 has to be done via muscle biopsy.

Yes thankyou. I ordered the test this morning through AQHA for our new mare. $85. I also asked about certain stallions because not everyone advertises their results. Both A Streak Of Fling and Dash Ta Fame are 5 panel N/N clean. Also Frenchmans Fabulous, A Dash Ta Streak, and Firewaterontherocks are N/N across the board clean.

for PSSM1, but the registries are not requiring PSSM2 testing at this point.

I thought there was a new test for PSSM2 that did not require a biopsy. Anyone know who does that?

Yes, EquiSeq has a new test for PSSM 2 (and also a 3, 4 & 5 if you want to get scientific!) that is just a hair test (or blood smeer on a card if you live outside the US) and I had my mare tested through them! One of the main scientists and CEO is on the FB page "PSSM Forum" and is extremely helpful!

The hair test tests for the gene. But even with the gene present, the horse might not be symptomatic. The biopsy is the only way to know the degree is my understanding.

this is correct.  It is confusing the way Paul worded the testing page, but at this point, for PSSM2, it is only by muscle biopsy.  He is testing for P2, P3,
