Anyone who's been can you tell me to good and bad about Cheyenne?? We are thinking about making a trip this year. Best places to stay, eat....recommendations on rodeo/concert and anything else going on there.

Be prepared for lots of walking! You can seriously spend the entire day there though. It will be HOT, so dress appropriately. The beer tent behind the grandstand is always fun - they usually have a pretty good band in the afternoons and after the concerts.

Most Cheyenne motels raise their rates significantly during those 10 days. You may want to stay chceking surrounding cities.

I want to know too! We are planning a belated honeymoon for Cheyenne and Yellowstone in July.

You might try and book your hotel now. They fill up fast. It's fun. Parades and pancake breakfasts outside several times during the week. I grew up there so if you have any specific questions I can help. Lots of walking and unless you want to pay for parking, you can park down a city street and hoof it in to watch the rodeo etc. I haven't been to any of the events in almost 20 yrs, but there is some fun shopping on the grounds.
