What a series. Houston deserved it for many reasons.
Carlos Correa proposing to his girlfriend on the field was cool as hell.
Great team....classy bunch.

I am a die hard Texas Rangers fan... but since they just couldn't get it done this year, I cheered on the Astros in every game!

Way to go Houston Astros!!!

I love me some SF Giants so naturally have some aversion to the Dodgers.  It wasn't hard to love the Astros when I chose sides...a fun and exciting team.

It was pretty cool the way they had those opening ceremonies before the games. 100% classy. In LA they had the flyovers of those jets timed perfectly at the end of the anthem. They had guys like Vin Scully, Sandy Koufax, and Don Newcombe throw out the first pitch.
The best was when George Bush strutted out to throw a strike for the first pitch. I saw how, during the national anthem, all the ballplayers held their hats over their hearts, and I even saw George Springer and Carlos Correa singing along during the national anthem.
Compare that to the NFL debacle.

One reason for the difference may be that only 8% of the MLB players are black compared to 68% of the NFL ....... J/S

Incredibly racist. You obviously went through the trouble of looking up those percentages. You conveniently leave out how no professional sport in America is more diverse than baseball. You conveniently leave out how people from Holland, New Zealand, Curaçao, Japan, Korea, Germany, Canada, Venezuela, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Cuba, and others are represented. Some have slanted eyes. Some are black. Some are yellow. Some are red.
You conveniently leave out the fact that Latinos are growing in numbers in the professional ranks.....and NOBODY is complaining.

But....you just HAD to point out your statistics and the reason is obvious to most people. Congratulations.

OH ..... give me a break ...... WHAT players are kneeling ..... Blacks ..... not an excuse for them but the reasoning is sound....If the "few" in MLB tried it the others would probably beat the crap out of them ......

Whites have been kneeling too. Entire teams have been, practically.
Why are you bringing race into this?
The problem, as far as I'm concerned, is that the NFL didn't get on top of this. Nobody cares if black athletes have a statement they want to make, for whatever reason. They should do it on their own time, off the field. People watch sporting events, to a large degree, to escape the daily avalanche of strife and controversy, and they don't like the disrespect. Period.
One MLB player, that I'm aware of, chose to kneel during one game and he took a lot of flack over it. I haven't heard of any other instances. The fad hasn't taken over MLB up to this point. Thank God.

I mentioned that. He was a backup catcher for Oakland.
I think he ended up getting arrested for something recently.
He was white, if memory serves.

His name is Bruce Maxwell and he's with the Oakland A's.  I think he thought kneeling would start a trend in the professional baseball community.  It didn't and he seems to have come unhinged since then.  He was arrested for pointing a weapon at a delivery person.

Seems he is African-American born in Germany.
