Thanks for taking the time to read about Gabrielle. She is doing well and just continues to amaze me.  We have decided to pursue purchasing an "in the meantime" horse for her to regain her strength and confidence on.  I am still praying and believing that she will be able to run her big, fat, appaloosa again someday.  But, until that happens I want her to be able to do what she loves and be safe.

I used to volunteer with a handicap riding program. For us, we had a few lessons horses who were as sweet and calm as could be. We never used anything over 15.1 because it is too hard for the walkers to reach and help if needed. We used to play games with the riders, let them shoot those foam basketball type games you normally mount on a bedroom door. So we all tested them out with leg pressure in various areas, how they reacted to new situations, threw things off of them, dropped things off of them, etc. We only had one that rode alone and he didn't have any physical limitations so other than that we always walked them and had 2 handlers (one for each side).

I don't know if that helps but prayers for your family. Such a difficult thing but she looks to be on good spirits.
