My seven yr old gelding who is naturally lazy. Likes to lag behind the bit, drag his shoulders and hang his head down into the bridle. Ive tried several bits to try and pick him up. A plain wonder bit worked for a short time. Thinking of trying a Fred Hunter bit. Any ideas?

Much easier to pick them up with your legs than your hands. Personally, I would go back to basics and get him moving in front of your leg and using his butt properly, which will elevate the front end. Just my .02 and experience.

Bit wise i would try the short shank chain Molly Powell  http://www.thetackstop.com/bit395M.htm but I would use your legs and don't be afraid to pop him lol
