Im really surprised that you waited this long. Thats absolutley ignorant and uncalled for. Why would they even be putting hands on YOUR horses in the first place?? That would have been the straw for me. And correct me if im wrong but where in the world does the barn owner take care of other peoples horses?? Thats like asking your landlord to pay for your doctors appoinments just because you're living in his house. These people need kicked out YESTERDAY!  Highly recommend having a officer present for the letter of eviction and when they remove the horses, ive seen some boarders do some horrible things to barns and horses when leaving. and i agree 1000% with getting a camera. These poeple sound like complete trash. GOOD LUCK!

OhMax - 2017-02-16 6:59 AM Give them their 30 days. Notify the sheriff that you did so and document any damages that occur from that point forward. Is she current on her board? If not inquire about how long she must be delinquent before you can put a lien on her horses and sell them to recoup funds. Being a single mom is no excuse for not being a decent human being and respecting other people's things.

amberturner4 - 2017-02-15 9:46 PM Hi, I am having some problems out of a boarder and I'm needing some advice. This boarder has 2 horses. They have no manners and literally tear down my fences and climb my gates. I have confronted the owner numerous times and she blows it off like it's no big deal. The owner is a single mother who is a nurse. I originally felt bad for her so I told her I would let her board them for $150 a month that includes feed and hay. Well I finally had enough and told her she had to love them. Now she hasn't been out to the barn in months but after I told her that I guess she was mad. Her, the kids, and her boyfriend went to my barn one night and let my personal horses out of the barn and left all of my gates open. They also threw beer bottles down and other trash. She actually blocked me from her post but I went on her boyfriends page on Facebook and found the post that showed they were out there and what they were doing. I am not trying to be petty but I am so frustrated. She told me she can't move them until she buys some land. The Sheriff Dept said I have to give 30 days. These horses are costing me a lot of money considering all of the fencing and panels they have destroyed. If anyone has been in a similar situation or has some advice I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance!

It would be one thing to just have POS horses that have no manners causing havoc on your property  -- that reason I could see needing a proper step by step process to evict them but THIS.... THIS is something else entirely!!!! I'd be pressing charges and screw asking them nicely to leave in 30 days! Wow.
Sorry you are dealing with this!

AMEN! And this is reason #15465156 why I won't even CONSIDER boarding someone's horses - usually it's not the horses who are the problem but the owners - and paying for her vet bills?? - IS SHE ON CRACK??? She sounds delusional!

I hope you are able to get her out of there!
