I've always used an "Clinton Anderson-type" rope halter that is stiffer than the "Parelli-type" that is a lot softer. What is your preference and why? Thanks!

Just a regular rope halter. Why? Because they're probably $20 cheaper!
My favorites are WigWam. NRS brand is good too.

I have the Clinton Anderson and won't use anything else. My horse has been trained by one of his ambassadors. His halters are designed to lay on the face a certain way to clearly give the ques. IMO, they're worth the money and you can find used ones.

Yea, putting the name on it makes them crazy over priced. I'm looking at a ones "like" them and was wondering about the stiffness difference and how one would work better or worse than the other. ?????

I prefer the stiffer ones... that being said check out on facebook, knottygirlz. They make the same weight and feel of CA halters and leads without the huge price tag. I don't use them for daily wear, that is when my $15 halters come in handy, but I have 3 training halters and leads and I love them! Great feel, great response.

B and H Rope Halter. I am pretty sure they sell to Clinton Anderson and he puts a name and $$ on it. I have one and the 14' leadrope and it is literally the exact same thing. Very reasonably priced.

I like the Chris Cox ones the best but they are also over priced. My farrier uses them with the lead.

I've gotten some NICE rope halters and leads from Half Circle Ranch. They use the same rope as CA and Parelli but without the price tag. She offers different colors and stiffnesses too.

This is what I use too. I LOVE them but I also have never used the CA or Parelli so I can't speak in regards to which is better.
