I hope they got them moved somewhere dry.  When it flooded down here last summer, the horses that stood in the water for 2-3 days ended up sloughing skin from any part of thier body that was under water.  It was a huge, painful ordeal to help them heal up and get healthy again.

We were so lucky last year when Lynn was ONLY in water for 1 day; it rose from about top of his hoof one morning to almost his back by 10:30 the next morning. Thank the good Lord our other 4 were on the pond levees.

Prayers they are all safe and dry tonight, as well as their owners.

They are on higher ground but are still surrounded by water. They have been able to get them feed and water but it's still totally flooded.

I am embarrassed to admit I've been too busy to watch the news---is the water going down or are they still in danger of the water rising and flooding them on this higher ground too?

This was shared this morning and looks promising, but I haven't heard anything since. We are expecting another storm Saturday night and into Sunday so hopefully they can get them out before it hits.

Update on San Jose horses...

The river is still dangerous for people and for horses not trained for water crossings, but they were able to get some horses out today. My friend who boards there reports that river levels should drop more overnight and it may be tomorrow that they are able to move the last of them.

editted to add:

"All the horses are currently high and dry, and have been given food and everything. They're in a relatively safe situation, and have been for the last day or so, just we couldn"t get to them or get them out."

Prayers for them to all get to safety, and for all the other folks and animals that are being affected also.

Thank you for updating us.
