I'm assuming you mean coffin joint injections ?????? They go in at the top of the hoof. If you are referring to those, I have lots of experience. |

Why is the horse sore on their soles in the first place? Is it the sole that is sore? Heel pain? Toe pain?
More background info is needed. |

| Race bred, born that way is my understanding. Just doesn't grow any sole. X-rays showed calcium growth in both front hooves |

OK, Coffin joint injections will NOT DIRECTLY affect the sole. However, if the horse has thin soles, is sore or traveling unbalanced because of foot pain, then that will cause coffin joint inflammation. If the vet injects that coffin joint, then yes, pain in that joint will subside temporarily if the cause is not fixed. Hope that helps! Coffin joints are high motion so they cannot be repeatedly injected without problems. |

| I would think your first step would be corrective shoeing? Get his feet balanced and increase his palmar angle with some wedge pads....AND then look into coffin injections if the vet thinks they are needed. |

| Just bought a horse with thin soles, He was very tender in the front. Did corrective shoeing with pads. He is 100% sound and happy. |
