BarrelRacing4Christ - 2017-03-27 6:46 PM I like to give them at least three or four days to settle in, maybe more if needed.
Thank you- that is what I was thinking. Do you hang out with them, brushing, etc? He is a people horse and it will be a week or so before I turn him out with my gelding.
I would be brushing and loving on him so you guys will get started on the bonding time between the two of you Β
I can hardly wait to bring him home, even my son is excited to see him. He is a cow man, but I think he is fixing to come over to the dark side, lol!
Your have better post pictures of the new boy when you get him home tomorrow because I want to see him.. Β
Eeek! I don't know how! Could I email them to you?

Yes you can , heres my email [email protected] let me know when you do send the pictures so I can go and get them posted for ya Β Β

Hey, Roxie I just emailed a picture of Rooster. It's not that great but thank you.

He IS sweet. I had to tie him to the trailer to get a picture because he follows me and I can only get a picture of his face. That was not a good picture that I took.

I bought a new barrel horse 3 weeks ago, I let him settle for one day then went on a quick 10-15 min trail ride. I did short rides for the next week, then started a routine. I was too excited. Congrats on your new horse.

Is he there yet, is he there yet??????

Yes, I got him home, but then we got busy and so today I will take pictures and send them to Roxie to post. He is a red dun and so sweet.

My Dan is a red dun, and I still think he's just beautiful, even at 38 and showing his age now!!

He's adorable, congratulations!!! Maybe it's a dun thing---Dan follows me almost everywhere I go! More times than not, my 2 crutches, one foot, and his 4 feet get in each other's way cause he walks soooo close. . . I think he thinks he's gonna miss a treat, psss like I have treats

Rooster and Dan sound a lot alike! My son, who is not a horse person, is even going out in his little pasture to pet and love on Rooster after he gets home from work. I have always thought red duns were so cool. He is the second red dun we've owned and both have tough, stoic horses. He is such a sweetheart!
