| We had one that would only eat leafy, small stemmed alfalfa. If the stems were too big or not green leafy, he'd leave it for days. He didn't care, he wouldn't touch it. |

Location: Smack Dab in the Middle | I have one that wouldn't touch it. He'd sort alfalfa pellets out, wouldn't touch flakes. I've finally gotten him where he will eat most of a small flake in his stall. |

| Mine act like it's crack! They get one flake of straight alfalfa with their grass hay and they vacuum all the alfalfa up first! Have you tried alfalfa from just one place? Maybe try a different source? |

Location: alabama | All my others eat every bite it's just her. She definitely has ulcers( I just made another post abt that). I feed her triple crown sr because it's low starch and low sugar. But I keep reading no grain for ulcers but then I'm scared she will lose weight w out grain |

| Treat for ulcers and give probiotics. They won't eat what they can't digest. |

Location: Where the pavement ends and the West begins Utah | put your horse on Forco,it is amazing. Get the gut right makes it easier to heal the ulcers. If its real heavy/thick stem alfalfa most horses will leave it or if it has weeds or that funky bushy tips that will cut a horses mouth they wont touch it. May need the teeth worked on. |

I agree with the Forco. I've been feeding it for a year but was running low so I quit feeding it about a week ago until I got more and my horse quit eating his alfalfa! He wanted plain grass hay no alfalfa for almost a week. He LOVED it before when he was on Forco so I gave him the last of the Forco and he went back to cleaning it all up. Crazy huh?! Guess the prebiotics helped him to digest it better so he wanted it more. Is this a sign of ulcers? |

Location: texas | I am on day 21 w my new mare...
Samething wouldnt touch the alfalfa....
Yep she has ulcers.....
So pulled all my horses off grain.....
All they get is FAT source which is Max E Glo amd the grasses, alfalfa pellets along w alfalfa hay and coastal stuffed n slow feed nets, so they have food around 24/7
Treating her w omeprazole....
She has really perked up now, nickers for food, wants to be touched and brushed, whereas before she just stood n corner.....
I was feeding Safe Choice Special no corn and ultra low to no starch BUT is SOY....
Soy is the cheapest proteim for feed companies to use, its so bad for the horses, causes inflammation in joints and intestinal distress....
Will try and post pictures, granted only been 21 days

Location: Deep South | EVERY horse I've had that wouldn't eat alfalfa, gobbled it up after being treated for ulcers. No exceptions so far. |
