| So, Blondie has some swirls. Double forehead swirls and She has 2 small swirls where her tooth line is on both cheeks. She is exceptionally smart. She can be stubborn. She loves people.
I have another gelding with double forehead swirls. She is bred quite similar to him.

| I have a gelding with double swirls and he is also incredibly smart and a huge people pleaser. One of the most enjoyable horses I have ever rode. He is so smart, he gets into everything, can open any gate, untie any knot. He is the type you just show him once that something is wrong or right and he just gets it. |

| Sorry, but I swear by the swirl rule and won't buy a horse with anything but a solid single center swirl (if they are unbroke...I usually buy 2 yr olds). Anything I have ever had to break out with 2 swirls has been a bronc or too watchy/crazy for me. I had 1 exception back in the day, she turned out to be super feely and really fun and was never broncy. She had offset double swirls, |

| I have a mare that has a long swirl on her forehead, swirls on her shoulders/neck and a mustache.... Anyone care to evaluate her? My quirky mare has 2 swirls and I ADORE HER! She took some time to earn her trust but now that I have it, shes amazing. |

| I know that whorls store energy, so wherever there in a whorl on one side, and not a matching on the other, the side with the whorl will be shortened. Eg, if there is a sworl on the left side of the neck and not the right, the left side will be stiffer |

Location: Where you need a paddle... Oregon! | The horse in my picture has a double sworl, with one slightly lower than the other. She's a good one, well probably better than good, but she could have ended up dingy in the wrong hands. I've had her since she was 3 and she's 15 now. I can do anything on her and she isn't broncy. Kids can ride her and compete. But I've always believed that she could go to a different owner tomorrow and be a totally different horse. |

| My mare has 3. In a barrel pattern no less. She was getting pretty good at them and still probably would if I could get her in shape and me too for that matter. She was also an excellent rope horse, mainly a heel horse. She would pin her ears and you had better hang on and be ready for the corner. She also would pin her ears running barrels. She has her quirks though. When she is anxious she raises one front leg then the other. She would do that when getting ready to run barrels. She still does it mainly when feeding time or when one of the other horses are out of her sight. Remember how Zenyatta would "dance" when getting ready for a race? This mare does that also. |

You will find everything you want to know (and don't want to know) about swirls on the Linda Tellington-Jones website. I am also a believer in whorls and make my purchases based on them. Linda Tellington-Jones' paper(s) on whorls are spot-on for nearly every horse I've owed and/or worked with.
It's not just the facial whorls, it's the others as well, and the chest "wheat whorl", etc.
