| Hey guys! So I am thinking of buying a new computer, as my current one is not really living up to my demands. My current computer is a PC. It's about 2yrs old and isn't terribly bad, but it will restart randomly without notice in the middle of projects which obviously is infuriating if you haven't saved your work. It also refuses to connect with the WiFi if it looses the initial connection, so I have to restart my entire computer just to keep working on WiFi. I am highly contemplating switching to a MAC. I have an iPad and iPhone and love them both. Does anyone have an opinion on a PC or Mac? My biggest turn off for the mac is the price. I am will be entering into my 4th year of veterinary school, so I would like something smaller and light weight to take to the clinic if I need to as well as being dependable. I don't want another tablet, definitely wanting a computer. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I recently replaced our computer and got a mac. I really like it. The only things I don't like are that I had to buy an external disk drive and the all of the slots (usb, sd, headphone, etc.) are on the back. Might not be a big deal to you, but it's pretty annoying to have to constantly turn the thing around anytime I plug in something. It is very user friendly, once you get used to the different controls and shortcuts. |

Location: North Dakota | MAC! They last forever. They don't get that slow/laggyness(is that a word?) that PCs get. You will not be disappointed. |

| Thanks guys! I really appreciate the opinions! It definitely sounds like the mac wins! Does anyone have a preference on the macbook pro vs the air? |

Location: CTX | Used to have a Sony Vaio for the last 2 laptops, but they don't make them anymore, so when I needed a new one I ended up geting a MacBook Pro. And I love it!!! Like others said, it doesn't get sluggish, and I've been using it for a year and a half now. I already had an Iphone and and Ipad and they sinc so I have everything I need on all 3. Hands down I will not get anything else then a Mac from now on. Don't know about the Air, so can't help you with that. |
