So many choices out there!! |

| Our Dodge Cummins was always good to us, besides rusting out pretty bad and some electrical problems. The power is definitely there and since it's a 04 it was before a lot of the emissions stuff so runs good and has great gas mileage for a 1 ton.
We just bought a 2008 Chevy 3500 with the rebuilt Allison transmission and love it. Came from California so don't need to worry about rusting. Pulled all the emissions stuff out and it runs even better and gets almost as good of gas mileage as the Dodge.
I'd have an older ford (but again you'll run into rusting) or a 7.3 but won't own anything else unless it's fully bulletproofed. Too many issues I just don't want to deal with otherwise.
GMC is just your fancier Chevy, same engine.
Overall though, each brand has its own issues. It just depends on what you want to deal with and what you don't. Buying new versus buying used. All that jazz. |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Depends on the year model and what liter of diesel engine. I'm a die hard 90s model turboed 7.3L Ford fanatic. I like the new turboed 6.7 Ford once it's been deleted I also like the 06-09 Dodge 5.9Liter turbo diesels.
I like them all for different reasons. Each truck can do a better job than the other in different scenarios and situations. |

I like them all for different reasons. Each truck can do a better job than the other in different scenarios and situations. Dodge quit making the 5.9 Cummins in 2007.5...the other half of 2007 they went to the 6.7 and in 2013 they started adding the DEF to the 6.7. In I think 2015 they did some more things to make the 6.7 motor more efficient and powerful, but I haven't owned one yet. Overall, on Dodges, the 5.9 Cummins from 1998.5 to 2007.5 where the same, they were the 24 valve motor. 1998.5 and older were the 12 valve 5.9 Cummins...they are our personal favorite due to ease to work on and ease of maintenance. We're diehard Cummins fans in our house though.

Location: Idaho | We are FORD drivers and have been for years. We did have an 6.0 and though we did go 250,000 miles on that thing... we blew everything you could on it!! Finally traded it in for a 2015 6.7, which was great, really loved it, someone hit me head on and it totaled the truck, saved my life, but the truck was wrecked. So we bought a 2016 6.7 and I really LOVE how they haul. We haul a LOT and big loads. We do airbag the truck. I just got done driving a 2016 Dodge cummins and we had a big load the whole road trip, it pulled well, it stopped well. But if I had to pick, I'd go with the new Ford over buying a dodge. JMO |

Location: Armuchee, GA, NW section of Ga | I bought a new F450 in 2012, with all the bells/whistles. Plain white in color, beautiful to me. It replaced a F250. I have a 3 horse slant LQ it pulls without any difficulty. I also use it to pull the various farm trailers loaded with tractors, skid loaders etc. never have had any difficulty pulling anything. The only thing is, I look so tiny behind the wheel.... |

Location: on the fine line between insanity and geniusness | I come from a die hard dodge family. My daddy owned sale barns my entire life so we have always hauled cattle and they are the toughest. HOWEVER, I bought a GMC a few years ago due to my back problems. My dodge was simply too rough to ride in for hours on end. I wouldn't trade my Denali for the world, and since then my family has bought 3 GMC trucks. They pull just as good as the dodges and aren't near as rough! Plus, I don't think I would survive a month without my onstar. I use it constantly. |

| 2013 dodge. LOVE the engine brake. Nice on the horses and nice on the truck. The power is nice, doesnt feel like you are hauling a trailer. MPG isnt horrible, we get about 15-17 |

| Between us and my in-laws we have 3 Duramax's. A Chevy and 2 GMC's. 2 3/4 tons and a 1ton dually. Not a lick of difference between the GMC and Chevy with the same interior package aside from some buttons being in different places.
Love them. Our neighbor is our diesel mechanic and they have quite a nice business going working on Fords - it's the #1 brand he sees in the shop across all of them. He's always steered us away from Dodges due to some of the absolute electrical nightmares.
Between hauling horses, cattle, and machinery/posts for our fencing business we run them hard, zero major issues outside of maintenance.

| 2014 Dodge 1500 Hemi. Yes, it's a half ton (I am stuck with it for now). I just purchased a new 2017 Sundowner 3H Santa Fe 6.5 SW and it pulls like a dream. The trailer is super light and I just love it! |

Location: Roping pen | We have a '13 dodge and a just traded a Dmax in for a 16 F450. F450 beats all. Pulling 19,000 lbs, it handles it like it is not back there. Last weekend, 250 miles into a 15-20 mph wind....never once had to shift down at 70 - 75 mph. I am sure it will cost me in speeding tickets. Averaged right at 8.9 mpg. Works for me. The Dodge is lucky to get 7 mph with same trailer with noticeable less go. Had to put air bags under the ford is the only complaint.
Just fyi, the cab/chassis pickups are detuned and most are not happy with them. The Dodge 4500/5500 and the Ford Cab/Chassis F450 and all F550s have about 20-30% less horse power/torque than the Dodge 3500 or the Ford F450 that comes with a box. Same motor/drive train, but different computer settings. Can retune, but that causes a lot of other problems. This is done for commercial use to get to the clean idle emissions requirements. |

The Ford is our least favorite it is a no pullin deisel hog, and there always seems to be something wrong with it. I love the GM to its been a great truck and it rides so nice... |

Location: the fantasy txdad married | I flew to the factory in 2004 and drove a Dodge 1 ton dually home.....it had to have been built on a Friday. Horrible fuel mileage that never got better. Was in the shop at least 3 times before it hit 20,000 miles. Drove it until it had 100,000 miles. Bought another 2004 used in 2006 and it must've been built on a Wednesday. Got the best fuel mileage of anything I've ever drove and was a great truck even though it was all stock. I now have a 2008 F450 and it is by far my very favorite truck to date. I've had it for 5 years and I love, love, LOVE IT!!! Will pull a house down if I ask it. Gets horrible mileage (9-11mpg) and I don't even care. It's a beast and it's pretty and it's my big Pavement Princess |
