Elite Veteran Posts: 747	I bought a used one that was used twice. It was in perfect condition when I got it, but the change of climate (very rainy and humid here) caused it to rust within a week. I'm guessing the person I bought it from didn't pay the extra to have it coated because she didn't need to. Other than that, I love the way my horses work in it!

Are talking about the mouth peice and the shanks are just the mouth peice? Both the mouthpiece and the shanks rusted. If I consistently use the bit, the mouthpiece doesn't rust. But if it leave it hang for a week it'll be rusted.
