Location: Bandera, TX | She is four and cycles really hard, leaning against the trailer, etc. I have three other mares and never had this issue. Before I go the Regumate route, I'd like to try a supplement. What works for everyone?

| I believe in starting with the cheapest route - which is probably raspberry leaves, bought in bulk not with a fancy label from a supplement company.
I've seen it work magic on some and only just take the edge off others. |

I just brought a mare in that is cycling bad. Is a witch under saddle. Uncomfortable, can't focus, and was basically "painting" the barrels as she went by them. 
She's on Raspberry leaf right now. It's only been a week, not sure how long it takes to notice a difference... but I'm not noticing a difference. I spoke with my vet and we're scheduling to have pellets injected. Vet said he's had great success with it, although it doesn't rid the mare of her cycle completely. It is supposed to smooth things out for 4-6 months.
The next option will be the Depo shot. Administered every 3 months, I think. And can eventually stop cycles altogether.
If all else fails, Regumate. |

| The mare I rode WAY back when who was the mother of the 3 I have now (she is deceased now) but I took her to a barrel race that had poles in Kansas City and she was having her cycle and I was having mine. She went in like a house a fire on the poles, mowed 3 poles down her first pass through, and on her second pass hit 2 more, left 1 standing. On her barrels she hit 1 and 2. Needless to say I was careful not to run her when we were both cycling.  |

Location: Alberta, Canada | I've had good luck with raspberry tea -- NOT leaf form, actually steep it into tea and pour 1/2 cup on ration once a day. Has worked way better than just leaf for me. |

| I have a mare just like you describe and have posted it on here!!! By the time they are bumping on your trailer, witch under saddle etc, you are beyond the supplement phase. Go with regumate and don't look back. Luckily my mare despite being in a lot of pain, loved to work and it didn't affect her performance. But the squeeling, bumping on the trailer, peeing on me when I would put her back boots on, peeing on my farrier, peeing every time a horse even remotely went by her, acid washing the inside of my trailer with her pee, ( Get my point) I was DONE.... no herb , raspberry leaf/tea will do SH &*_(*_)*(_)(*_)(!!!!!!!! Put in a call to my vet and picked up a bottle of regumate. She gets 10cc orally every evening ( You can put on feed but its pretty nasty stuff). No more bumping, peeing, SHE IS HAPPIER. yep, its 300.00 a bottle that lasts 100 days, but to me, so well worth it. |

| My mare did just fine on Mare Magic, she could bring all the other mares in the barn into heat with her, get all the geldings acting like studs, and would try to kick you if you touched her. Now she is gentle as a lamb and seems to have a "normal" cycle, but it took about 30-60 days for it to fully work. If you take them off or don't do the loading dose right it doesn't seem to work as well.
And I have learned that if I am cycling and my mare is cycling hard...just don't ride because one or both of us is going to end up dead.  |

(I couldn't help but laugh thinking of the geldings eyeing the mares in the barn and the cowboys looking at you  !!

Location: Wyoming | For a horse like yours none of them. I wasted a ton of time and money on mare supplements for a young mare that cycles hard and has sticky follicles... help your horse out and get her Regumate |
