I don't nebulize silver. I nebulize inhalation saline per vet recommendation (I order from a human medical supplier). It draws mucus/debris out of the lungs. My mare has seasonal allergies but nothing serious and this works for her.

What is your goal? By that I mean what are you looking to achieve?
I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time, but sometimes I ask myself questions like this when I see horses hooked up to all sorts of vibrators, flashing lights, gadgets and machines.
Sometimes all we are accomplishing is treating ourselves, in a sense.

My mare lightly coughs and blows her nose when warming up. She is not a bleeder just seems to have allergies. I tend to agree that sometimes we are treating our minds instead of the horse.  I am shooting to clear her airway prior to competition.

I know people use, for example essential oils like peppermint. As well as some drugs. I'm wondering what they use, why, what results they see or problems are they treating. I see lots of people using these nebulizers I'd like to know more.

we have a horse with IAD so we nebulize with a mixture of albuterol and some other things in it.

I saw a great recommendation on here that has helped my mare. Used the silver care solution with an inhaled steroid, fluctisone ( prob misspelled) or Flovent. Put about 5 sprays in with solution first few days. Do everyday for one week then can step down some, just see how they do. Use several days before running and day of running. I had done a lot of research and found that the inhaled steroids would target lungs and not be as bad as the systemic steroids ( injections. Or oral) this has been a lifesaver for my mare. Had spent thousands at vet with no answers. It is just trial and error with your horse to see what works.
