Right now I am riding my mare in a triple creek that I had originally bought for a horse that got hurt. I love my triple creek and how it rides and how I ride in it but it doesnt really fit my horse and now that my other horse is okay to ride again I need another saddle. Before the triple creek I rode her in a pro rider that was a standard 7 inch gullet and it dit her fine. I'd like to get either a martin or a double j. I know what size martin I would need but double j I have no idea. Could someone explain the trees of the double j to me? What would work best on a standard sized horse? Also in your opinion which is best for a free running horse that snaps back quickly around a barrel? I don't want my feet going backwards and I prefer a really deep seat. I also like to be able to get up and ride forward.

I cannot explain all the trees as they are super confusing, but if you want to talk to someone who is an expert in the industry and knows, and carries, all the big brands and how they fit, call Felicia Carlton at horsetackworld.com SHe is super sweet and knows her stuff!!! I have bought 5 saddles from her and talk over phone and send pics and she knows exactly what saddle will work best for horse and rider. She has fit all my horses perfectly. I am not s spokesperson and I hope this doesnt get deleted casuse it really is just a reference for someone who has questions like you have.
