To the people that had experience using hackamores for barrel racing.
I have only used S-Cheek and have two horses that this works on. Need to buy either a second one or a different style but was thinking of maybe the Stivers or Bozo might be a good investment.
I want one that has rate and bend which do you feel provides this the best. The horse I would use it on doesn't have a problem with being to bendy.

My mare goes best in the stivers. It has flex, rate, and the wider sides give better direction. The little s didn't have enough rate and she didn't like the thin sides of the warner hack.

For me: No luck with the s hack on any of my horses
or the Jim Warner didn't like the feel
Not sure what hack I have I think I got from lance graves but looks like a goosetree but has more of a curve a C shape with rope nose band. Always wanted a Bozo finally bought one bc found cheaper than new I wasn't sure bout it bc the nose part looked like it was stuck in upward position but when you put on it was in the right position and realized that way it was supposed to be made and I love it!!! I don't even feel my horse in my hands he is so light in it! I think the main thing is how the nose piece fits him! We have breathing issues so have to be careful that nothing falls in certain spot on his nose. I didn't think I would find a better hack for my horse than what I already had but I love the Bozo!

Try the Carl hack from L&W bits! It's more of a sidepull. I have flex and whoa but it won't make one overly bendy. I'd say it's a cross between the little S and the Jim Warner. I've tried a JW and didn't care for it.

Following this because I cant find a happy medium. So far I have tried the Little S, too much bend. I like the feel I have in the Jim Warner, but my horse wants to fight it a bit on the backside. I have a beetle and a stop and turn that I havent tried at a run yet...only worked in the Stop N Turn but I'm not sure how we feel about that one yet..
