Sigh. It's that time again.

A little history - I generally ride in Jackie Jatzlau treeless saddles. But I bought a cow horse with some wicked athletic moves that I needed more saddle to stick with. So I bought a Just B Natural. It took me some getting used to but now I looove this saddle on this horse (leather quality could be better but that's another thread). I think the ground seat and the stirrup position help the most and I love the secure feeling.

However, it's a bit too small in the gullet and is not stretching out like I thought it would - to the point where he has a little muscle atrophy going on either side of the wither. The rest of his back is fine, occasionally some loin soreness. So I need something wider. If they made this saddle in an extra wide, I'd buy one in a minute.

I've used a 1/2in 5 star, 3/4 Schneiders, Saddleright, etc. The 5 star seems about the best but still a bit too tight.

Any suggestions BHW? Saddles I should try? Pads? Maybe thin out the pad over the wither area?

I ride a jackie and the setup I have going is a thin saddle pad liner that I cut a spinal relief channel in (didn't want to pay extra for a pre cut one) and over that I put a ultra thin Thinline western cut pad https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/ultra-thinline-western-square-pad-...

It's cut down on a lot of bulk, before I was riding either a 1/2" or 3/4" pad and with this getup I feel like my leg is a lot closer to my horse and she hasn't gotten sore.

I've used the pad liner and the thinline with my regular treed saddle as well and still like it, not sure on a JBN
