I was hoping someone would comment because I wanted some too for camping! I have been wanting some from affordable portable products, it seems like they get really good reviews from their customers on facebook

I saw those both. Just thought I get some opinions from everyone on here. Well if you all get them and like them. Let me know! :)

If I were to order any, that would be who I'd go with based on pricing. That said...my hubby promised to build me some if I actually ever start rodeoing again lol. But then we figured up the cost to do it ourselves, and the Affordable Portable company was not much higher considering the convenience of prefabbed. I figure the shipping would be the biggest difference.

I see a lot of ppl using hot wire, and my horses live behind one strand of Hotwire, but I'm scared to use that in public.

Ditto, I've thought about building pvc to make a corral using one side of the trailer. Never priced it out though versus pre fab.

Hot wire scares me. Hubbys horses don't respect it and we don't have any around here to see what mine think. I'm afraid they'd have a tiff and one would go right through it or over it.

I personally decided not to go that route. We just bought the stakes and a roll of wire from TSC and the battery. Cost me about $100 all together. I can set up as big or small as i want/need depending on area and horses i have. My horses really respect fences though so most of the time i dont even need to turn it on. its so convient and way easier to haul than those big panels. We re use the wire as much as possbile but when youre trying to pack up in a storm sometimes it just gets balled up instead put away nicely haha.  Wire is cheap though, only about $15 for a roll so its no biggie. We really like it and so do the horses and it didnt kill our pocket book!

I purchased the PVC ones after doing tons or research. They were supposed to be the same weight as the aluminum pens everyone is using and the theory is if they run through them they will not get hurt. I purchased the box set that you assemble yourself which was a pain in the rear but we did it. We tried to use them and found them to be frustrating to set up because they kept flopping over and then when we tried to stake them like the tell you too we had trouble getting the stakes in the ground because of rocks. They were really unstable and I ended up not using them. They have been leaning against the side of my barn for month now with the grass growing up through them.

I have a friend that uses the aluminum pens and they are ok but need to be set up on perfectly level ground. Horse will also put their heads under them or through them which is kind of scary if they get spooked or take off. I've also saw one horse that rared up and put their leg over the top bar and back on top of the lower bar and was hung and it took and army to get him untangled. Thank god there was people around at the time who could help.

The electric ones will only work if they respect an electric fence.

Now I just either tie to the trailer if it's one night or buy a stall if its 2. If I have to stay 2 nights without a stall I throw some 8 ft gates in my trailer stall.
