Has anyone tried the new Ultium Gastic Care or Race Ready GT?

I have not but I am thinking about switching to the Ultium Gastric Care. I currently feed Ultium and add a probiotic, so this would be great if the feed included it all. I've looked and you only need to feed 4 lbs of feed for one dosing of the Outlast supplement, which is good because I don't feed near the recommended amount that they suggest.

Does anyone know what the pricing is on the new products?

Have you seen it in stores yet? Do you think Tractor supply will carry it? Thats where I get my regular ultium.

I haven't seen it anywhere yet, but I would imagine Tractor Supply will eventually carry it. My small local Purina dealer orders Ultium just for me and another customer, so next time I go in I'll ask him to look into it for me. But I'll have to get through what he keeps on hand for us first.

I think the new feed is debuting 6/6. I know that if you request Tractor Supply will usually get it in for you.

Feed your probios and prebiotics separately so you know how much they are actually getting.

I just saw you can buy the Outlast by itself. I have easy keepers on healthy edge. Mine barely need feed.

So I got talked into trying the new gastric care ultium last week.. it's exactly the same price as the regular ultium at my feed store which is $24.99 then bag of the outlast supplement is $40 by itself. Well, I'm not pleased with the gastric care.. it's very dry, looks like it's very beet pulp based... I was told by the staff that it was the EXACT same recipe as original ultium except for the added outlast... my horse also choked on 1lb of it. Horrible experience... it also smells very VERY different from the regular ultium... needless to say I didn't feed it again... since I was totally out of my regular ultium... I gave my horse a few days off any grain and I have started him on the blue bonnet nature's blend performance... very small softer pellets with whole oats and a little chopped corn in it... he's never had a choke issue with that feed... sigh.... maybe I got a bad bag??? But regardless I'm not taking the chance again of my horse choking.

The Purina Rep at the Bonus Race in Lincoln told us the new Ultium was not quite the same formula, they had to tweak it in order to get the gastric care in it.

Also she said only Checkerboard dealers would carry it, not Tractor Supply (boo). But after hearing your review I'm not so sure I want to try it.

Purina brought a friend several tons of feed to use in a trial. One was IMPACT PERFORMANCE. (Think that is what she called it). She put my horses on it. Has had very good results. One horse was just diagnosed with ulcers and she is putting her on the OUTLAST as well. So far all I the new feeds that she has tried have been very good.

My horses have been on it for about 2 months now (I ordered like the week it came out). So far I really like it. Everyone looks good. My nervous Nelly mare hasn't elevated her nervous energy. I had a mare get VERY ill and lost a lot of weight. She's put on her weight and looks great. So far I'm happy with it.

ETA: I have them on Gastric Care.

The outlast is doing very well with horses that don't eat after works. It really keeps one eating in hard training. I wouldn't replace any probiotics or prebiotics with it though. Its more like a tums for horses.

Still feeding the same omelene or ultium horses just adding the outlast on top. The ultium outlast combo is formulated different.
