I had this same question.....we have a long yearling but he's not very big. I want him to get bigger so I didn't know when to cut him. Also, does ralgro really work?
My son think so.

Seems to me, in my totally uneducated opinion, that especially if you've got a nice colt or one with the potential to be nice, you can't put the nuts back on them. I'd wait as long as possible, and not when the weather is awful.

I gelded my guy around 8 months old. As soon as we had a week of cold weather, off to the vet he went. I show in hand a lot, so it's hard to show a colt/stallion.

Planning on this Oct/early next spring while its still cold for my yearling. He only dropped his second testicle in late spring of this year. Hes a really mellow colt and isnt a little jerk yet. Ive had other colts that were absolute a**hats and they got cut between 6-9 months. As long as my current baby acts like a gentleman, he can keep em. Doesnt hurt that hes a handsome son of a gun
