| Yes I've looked over old posts...
I have one I need to treat for ulcers.
Gastrogard/ulcergard isn't financially in the cards today, but I've seen a lot of folks like succeed. We had his horse on Gastroplus about 6 months ago, thought we saw results and then went backwards as quickly. Turns out he had other underlying issues.
My question on succeed is - after the initial 30 day treatment am I suppose to keep feeding it? Or say we do 2 months to be sure we get them perhaps. I've seen where people seem to be feeding it regularly, and where they aren't continuing it post treatment...

If you can't do Ulcergard, OE has a product to treat ulcers. Zesterra seems to get good reviews. Neighlox is popular. There are many things being used |

| Okay, that was also a question I was trying to find the answer to, hindgut vs stomach. Maybe we'll try the gastroplus again, I still have some leftover. |

Location: Illinois | Sometimes you can find a vet who can get you cheaper omeprazole. My vet compounds a paste that is omeprazole, ranitidine, and sucralfate and it is $300 for the full 30 day treatment. I used to have to do it several times a year, so it was helpful that it was significantly lower cost than UlgerGuard or GastroGuard. Luckily I found a daily supplement that has kept them away so I haven't had to use it for almost a year now. I've also used just ranitidine before and it worked, but its kind of hit and miss with a lot of horses and can make their hair fall out |

I am currently treating with that mix also...what daily supplement do you use as a preventative? |

| Succeed is the only thing that worked on my guy, he looked and felt terrible, started succeed 6 months ago and he looks and feels like a different horse, we had tried EVERYTHING else and this was basically a last resort, I am so thankful it worked and he is back to his old self again! |
