| I tried to find the old thread but there was a board member who said actiflex made their horse a little ulcery. I have a mare that is not cinchy, but when you first pull front cinch she kind of tenses up. She has been on the actiflex 4000 ( WHich worked for her really really well) for 2 years now. For giggles I just took her off of it last week and within 3 days she is absolutely relaxed when cinching now!!! SHe also has really bad heats and I wanted to make sure that wasnt the issue. Sure enough when she went through her heat this time her SI area was NOT SORE to palpation like it usually is etc. I suspect she had some irritation from the Actiflex in her stomach and hind gut that was really getting blown out during heat times. SO called my vet and am just going to use adequan instead...But that actiflex sure does do what it says it does!!! |

| That was me I loved Actiflex for what it did for my horses' joints, was really sad when it hurt their stomachs. My horses would still be on it if not for that. |

I totally agree!!! Both my horses joints feel better, they clocked better but darn it, there must be something that irritates her. Adequan will make them feel just as good I am sure! |

Location: Ohio girl moved to PA | i swithched over to the powder version of the actiflex and my horses LOVE it! its alfalfa based so its super platable and none of mine have any gut issues. One is on DAC cool gut and the other is just on AV juice but other than that they're fine. They've been on the actiflex for a month now and i really like it! Im sad to hear it gave your babies tummy issues. maybe try the powder kind? it last a heck longer than the liquid too! i'm still on the same tub for 2 horses and i started it July 29th and i still have a good bit left! |

oh wow! thats a suprise! i just assumed you were using the liquid. I'll have to make sure i keep an eye out. I wonder what could be causing the issue! I wouldnt think there is anything in the ingrediants that would really irritate them! |

| Some reports have stated that MSM can cause stomach upset in some animals and people. I wonder if them taking the collagen out of the product has somehow opened the door for Stomach upset? I wish they would put the collagen back in as I that is why I bought it in the first place. I have found collagen supplements help with my arthritic knees' mobility more than anything and then when I combine Curcumin and Boswellia, my inflammation decreases dramatically. |

| If you've only been feeding it for a month you probably won't notice the stomach problems yet. It took longer than that for me to start seeing the signs. Powder and liquid has the same joint health ingredients so I don't see why one would cause stomach damage and the other wouldn't. |

Agreed Its probably the MSM and my vet thinks the HA. Sometimes HA if it makes it to the digestive track can be harmful. Thats why most HA products are given IV, and Lubrisyn says their formula is absorbed in the throat, before it ever makes it to the GI tract. HA is ACID. |

Location: In the Hills of Texas | I had a horse that couldn't handle MSM as he would act colicky after eating it and I also couldn't handle MSM as it made me sick to my stomach. It didn't happen right away. I know for myself, I was on it for about 6 months before I had problems. I use to take HA and it never bothered my stomach. |
