Has anyone used shockwave for horses with SI pain? What was your source of pain? Ligament strain, arthritis ect... Did you inject in conjuntion to the shock wave? Did you notice a huge difference with shock wave and how many treatmeants did you do?

I think if PEMF would be a better option. SW doesn't go very deep and is very focused. It does have some temporary analgesic properties but for something as deep as the Sac. Joint area, PEMF might work better. Depends a little on what is actually causing the problem.

I agree with Liana, much depends on the source. If it is lower leg or anywhere else on the body that needs taken care of. Seems anything and everything causes SI pain. My show horse is built to easily have neg palmar angles on his hind feet. If we let him get too long it causes SI issues. This spring he injured his neck and having those sore muscles all summer really caused him to have lower back pain. They injected his SI area and did mesotherapy. I was really impressed. Days later he was a new horse. The mesotherapy is cheap and from what I can tell effective. Doesn't need done constantly either. But at the same time, before the injections and meso, I had him adjusted by a really good chiro and a massage. So who knows if one particular thing helped or all things together?????

It's pinpointed to the si. No other issues any where. This horse has been looked over and over with a fine tooth comb.

Recommend PEMF over shockwave for SI injuries.

Hey yes! It revealed nothing. I'm happy but frustrated. Not sure where to go next.

I was actually offered that at CSU, but due to so many people saying noting showed up on them, I opted to not do it...and run up a bigger bill.  I just don't think that is a real accurate test?
