| I went to one earlier this year and she gave me the confidence I needed to be able to let my horse run (as opposed to my holding him back). Worth every dollar for me!!!! |

Well at risk of getting flamed, after attending multiple Ed Wright and Ryan Lovendahl clinics, it's hard to encourage someone to spend money on a clinic without as well known coaching success and personal training success. |

I gotcha,,,,,,,so you really have no idea if she's a skilled clinician or not. You just felt it was somehow helpful to compare a mid 20's with someone that had been doing it longer than the one in question had been alive, and, oh yeah the one you compared her to isn't doing clinics any more.
Very helpful. |

Location: North Dakota | I've never been to a Sarah McDonald clinic, but here's my take on clinics in general. If you like the turn they put on a horse, then go. If you like what she's about in and out of the arena...then go. And if you have the money to invest, then go. Not every clinician out there is for everyone and the only way you'll find out if they are for you is by going yourself.

| Ive said this over and over, look at how many horses the clinician has trained and continues to train. Was this person a " One hit wonder" with one horse to never be seen again on multiple horses??? |

Lol you must either be high or just a very hateful person. Ryan Lovendahl is still very much alive and is in fact doing a three clinic series in Oregon.
Your hate is unwanted and unwarranted - go somewhere else. Your attitude and comments get extremely old.

You are a bully to everyone on this board and if your feelings are hurt, you might want to reconsider how you treat people. |

| I have taken my daughter to 2 of her clinics they were great!
Sarah is very soft spoken she isn't flashy or over the top which I personally find refreshing. Her clinics are very small which is also a bonus in my book. I'm a firm believer in no matter who or what you go to as long as you go in with an open mind you can always learn something even if its learning what not to do!
I would suggest giving it a go!

Sarah has won the NBHA open world on a totally different horse and I believe was very successful on a second horse before Bling came into the picture. Just saying. |

Location: Dubach, LA | She has given a couple of clinics around here. If the FB pics told the story, the clincis were attended by the same group of teenage girls that went to Fallon's clinic. I'm not sure what that means. It is an observation. Observation noted. I read an interview once where Sarah said an uncle trained Bling. I think I would want to spend my clinic dollars on a clinician that could train as well as jockey. As far as learning something at any clinic, I remember that Talmadge Green clinic in the 90s where I learned that rich people who pay for more than one horse in a clinic get extra attention. Edited to add: Is my bitterness showing?

Location: Oklahoma | This is what I believe bout clinics, everyone is so different. and what I do if I go to one is audit and I watch and take what might work on my horse and try at home. Some has worked and some has not. And I try to store away bc eventually I may have something different that it would work on later. NFR is quite a road to go down on~ Let's just say Sarah only is a "one time Wonder horse" as someone mentioned, how could you not learn something from her. Even if she didn't train. You can learn something from anyone, even a no name! I used to sit and watch exhibitions and that will tell you a lot too. Not one person is gonna be able to teach you everything for that one horse. Different things come up and need different things to fix at different times. It is always a learning process. I cannot afford to take my horse to whatever clinics, I did at my first one, but I learned so much by watching and taking notes and the thing bout it everyone has a different problem so you can really watch everyone else. Good luck and if you go give us an update! |

| When I decided to go to her clinic something I thought about was "shes a heck of a lot more accomplished than me". She has her own style.. was sweet and easy going. I enjoyed it and she made me feel comfortable. She saw me struggling with a particular drill and stopped something else she was doing to come ride beside me and help me. I am older than Sarah by a couple of years. I would say she is a "fan fav" among the younger girls and you do see lots of them in attendence. I learned a few things from someone who has gone and done it against the best out there. And I only drove a couple hours from home to attend. Price was reasonable as well. In my case why not. |

Location: WYOMING | No one in the world will better teach you to ride a super ratey horse!!!
My preference would be a horsemanship clinic and no not one that deals in carrot sticks. LOTS of barrel issues could be fixed with improved horsemanship more so than with a barrel racer showing you how to turn. Actually a dressage clinic would be my pick to start then I would find a reiner.
Build the horsemanship foundation first then any barrel clinic you attend will teach you something. I can say the Reinhard clinics are awesome and thats for most level barrel racer.
