| I went to turn my gelding out tonight and I noticed he is covered in bumps on his back, butt and stomach. Has anyone else dealt with this? I have changed nothing. He go outside at night and inside during the day. Only thing I can think of is maybe some type of bug. We have had some heavy rain this week. Should I worry or just
See if it passes?

Location: Arkansas | One of mine got into some wasps last week and he got popped several places and had welts on him. He's also very sensitive to bugs and has pretty much the same reaction if they get really bad in our area. I've never had to call a vet for his issues, thank goodness. I do watch his breathing and any swelling if he gets stung or bit on his head or neck area though. |

| I don’t see any improvement. I gave him Benadryl and washed him with ivory soap. I did decide to ride him yesterday and nothing seemed to bother him. However did notice some of the bumps had dry scabs on them. He is one of those horses that need to be in a bubble.. always into something..even my farrier calls him a sissy. Haha. I guess since they don’t seem to bother him I will try to ignore it. |

| If you do think it's hives, I have used Draw It Out liniment on them before and had pretty good luck. Obviously, if it effects his breathing you have a bigger problem! :( But if you just think it's allergies, might be worth a try. Good luck! |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | I don't know whether it is an allergic reaction, some kind of bug or fungus, but every horse I have that is full time on the pasture has it. Yesterday I sprayed with a fungus spray and will see how they are looking today. |

Location: Oklahoma | Well this is weird. Mine has them, too, but I think only on her back and ribcage, so far anyway. I thought there might have been something in the winter blanket that I put on her the first cold night last week. I haven't put it back on her until I can get to the laundromat to wash it, but now I'm thinking she has the same thing as your horses have. She stays out full time. I am in the Tulsa area, too. |
