Expert Posts: 1409 Location: Oklahoma	The trees are different. One those things if you try and that saddle fits better buy that one. Same tree doesn't fit all horses the same. Weird deal. But when it fits you and horse it is the most awesome! I love love mine! This will be my forever saddle even if it doesn't fit my next horse. it is a very secured saddle but it doesn't pin you down in the seat you can still get up and over. I didn't think that anything would beat my Caldwell but I sold it to get the Purdy. And so glad I did. It is not for everyone tho. good luck I will say if you have horse that very hard to fit it is well worth the try.

When you say it’s not for everyone, what do you mean? Just typical “different saddles for different styles” or is there something stand out on these? I am short at 5’1 with a short torso so I am a little concerned about how deep they look. I ride several different types of horses and even though I realize one won’t fit every single one it would be nice to have one that fits a good variety. Once again, thank for the response!

My friend really rides up and over on her horses (she goes pro) she thinks it sits her in too much. she also said that bout the Caldwell and she doesn't think the gator seats are slick, well I do! lol If you like how the Caldwell rides you will like how this saddle rides if it fits your horse. The trees are different bc they are wider going from the front to the back so it definitely clears the spine. It fits my horse perfect that I am off of right now and I am riding a friends horse while I'm off and my saddle fits her horse and he is made completely different. I have tried my saddle on friends horses and it didn't fit all. and there Purdy saddle didn't fit mine (that's why I day even if same tree may fit different). I had one friend buy 2 and another buy one. I know you don't want to buy the first 5-10 that are out there bc something bout the tree maker didn't do the tree just right and Vernon did fix at no charge on my friends saddle but it still didn't fit right. So before you buy call Vernon Purdy and ask bout the saddle. Good luck! it can be very overwhelming!

Cactus Cowgirl Posts: 2791 Location: Montana	I have one that fits horses amazing but I have gained too much weight and it is too small for me. When I had ordered mine it took for ever because Vernon was having trouble with keeping help. Hopefully that is better now.
