Ive been riding an old gelding we originally bought for my daughter that she didn’t like.  He is an ex rodoe horse, done it all, going on 20.  He still loves to run and I let him pick the pace.  I’m not trying to get every ounce out of him.  Just for fun.  I give him bute when we run and he is on a joint supplement and has been seen by my vet to make sure he is good to go.  Wanting leg wraps to put on probably night before, day of and day after to keep him comfy.  Dont know which way to go.  PHT or BOT?

I love PHT/MagnaCu!!  The two therapies in each product work differently so i would do your research and use which one works best for your guy. I have a friend that uses both bc one works better than the other for her different horses. It all depends on what your horse needs and likes.

The issue I'm having with BOT is that is needs to be used daily. They recommend leaving the boots on overnight. This guy is turned out when I'm not riding him.  I guess I could keep him up at night. I feel BOT would be better but PHT seems more user friendly

I got rid of all my BOT and will never use it again. I bought mine before it was ever even really known, it wasn't sold in magazines or anything you had to just find the website or know the small handful of dealers a the time, around 10 years ago or so. Sounded good, but now I use PHT. I always questions BOT a little, since it uses heat therapy and heat should never be used on injuries, etc. I used a quick wrap on my knee when I injured it and my knee felt great while it was on and then about 30 minutes after removing my knee felt worse than it did to start with. When I'd use it on my horses they'd feel amazing if I rode within an hour of taking it off, then they would feel awful again. They'd feel even worse than normal the next day working. I've never had one do that to me with the PHT products. Mine just spent 4 days at our NBHA State on bedded concrete and he moves just fine, with the BOT I had to walk him every few hours when we were on concrete or he'd get so stiff. I only walked him once each morning all weekend, works well for me. PHT is undoubtedly more expensive, but you can use it whenever you want, however long you want and can still usually be found used at good prices. I think resale for PHT is also better, seems like they sell within an hour of being posted usually on facebook and it was next to impossible to sell my BOT in great shape, for barely half the price of new.

PHT

I bought a BOT knee wrap for myself for the arthritis in my knee. It blew my knee up. I used my PHT horse wrap on it to get the knee back down.

I have a slightly different opinion I'll give you. PHT definitely helps relax my horses (aside from pill packs - I notice no difference at all with them).
However for ME....I have bad wrists (always have, and I'm sure they'll end up arthritic when I'm older). I bought BOT wrist things and they lessen the pain AND the length of time of my soreness.
Without BOT, I literally can't bend my wrist for 3 days. Now when I feel it coming on, I start wearing the BOT and it never gets to the point that I can't bend it.
My mom's wrists are the same and I let her borrow my BOT this summer. She asked to keep it, so it works for her too!
I know I'm not a horse, but that's my experience!

I will also be the odd man out and have a slightly different opinion.  I have used BOT for ALONG time, horse, dog and human products all with alot of sucess.  I started off with a mini blanket for my tension headaches and migraines I slept with it on my pillow every night and noticed such a difference I then bought horse and dog products too.  I did buy a PHT Magnacu blanket last summer and used it (because a lot of people spoke so highly of them) I didn't notice anything with it.  My horse actually was more sore after using it and not my BOT for the month that I tried it.  I do use a PHT Poll Packs and have for years and have noticed those working.  Blanket I didn't.  I'm not saying anything bad about them, just my experience.  I have a pretty new Magnacu blanket in my tack room I should sell since I haven't used it since last summer, but I keep thinking maybe I will try it again.  But I keep usuing the BOT because I've had sucess with it in alot of different horses, dogs and human.

I have arthritis in various areas on my body and whenever I wrap myself in my horse's BOT blanket, it makes me feel so much better. I need to get some of the human articles. Also have a PSSM2 horse and he loves the BOT blanket to warm up his muscles. I also want to try the Benefab blanket

I don't know about PHT, never used it. But I do use BOT.
Got a back brace for my lower back and it made it where I could move again.
I work on computers all day long and my wrists are bad. They hurt and tingle and all that good stuff that comes with carpal tunnel.... but I don't have time to get the operations.... Also sometimes my thumb starts hurting too. So I started with the fingerless gloves, I mostly wear them at night when I am in pain. And they really help keep the pain away. I also got the wrist bands so sometimes when it gets really bad I just wear those to work.
Now I don't have to wear them all the time, just when i feel the pan come on.
Got an elbow brace for my husband and it works for him too.
I got a blanket, hood and the quick wraps for my horse and got a doggie blanket for my heeler.... Not sure if they work for them (every body and animal is different) but I know it works for me. So hopefully it does for them too.

I have problems with arthritis in my left hand and I get pain in my wrist and thumb where it throbs. I bought a Sabona magnetic bracelet and I wear it all the time. Works great for me.

I also have the Tommie Copper fingerless gloves I wear when I get a flare up.

PHT is the way to go. But I would also get him on a good supplement.
I use Optimum Flex Olus and Herbal Respond.

A friend of mine got a Benefab Rejuvenate SmartScrim sheet & LOVES it! I think the combo of the magnets & ceramic might be extra nice too.
