If you guys wouldn't mind helping share this story, there is a huge scam unfolding in the race track world right now. The stories I have from the victims:
- sent money for a hauler
- sent money for a horse
- sent a deposit for a horse
- were supposed to be selling a horse to whoever Sanchez was impersonating, Sanchez would call them and say he is on the way to Mexico/in Mexico for a funeral and needed the seller (victim) to send money to a relative so the relative could buy a bus ticket to Mexico to attend the funeral and Sanchez (acting as whoever he was impersonating) would pay the seller (victim) back on top of the purchase price of the horse
- Sanchez, impersonating well-known owners, tells trainers he is going to send them horses (in all cases, very well-known G1 horses) and colts to train. Then the same story as above, he will get the trainer to send money for the hauling/emergency family member to Mexico, and/or a combination of selling an extremely well-bred colt for a low price due to a divorce/family health, etc.
- same stories as above, except he was selling stud fees

This Billy Sanchez guy researches his victims, I won't name names but he has scammed some of the TOP trainers, owners, and breeders in the industry, out of huge money in some cases. He cold-calls his victims, he speaks both English and Spanish, he is very knowledgeable about the people he is impersonating and he uses the same "funeral in Mexico/need to send money to a relative" story often. He scammed a well-known owner who is also in the barrel industry, I have no doubt that he will start trying this on barrel racers, if he already hasn't, especially since I am now working on cutting off his victim pool in the racing community. He may already have, I just don't know about it yet. PLEASE look at the phone numbers I have included in my info post, he has been using those, and I am sure he will be using new ones now that we are getting the word out. If you have heard of any scams or know of anything, please get in touch with me, I am directly in contact with the agencies who investigated and prosecuted him last time, I am tasked, literally, with finding more victims through my contacts in the race and now barrel industries. Billy Sanchez was prosecuted for this before and was convicted, at that time they had 20 victims and $183,000 in scammed dollars, I have been on this for just over a week and I am going to surpass that in both victims and dollars, he has been at this non-stop for years since he got out of prison. I've got victims who have sent as little as $200 to some that have sent as much as $25,000. And I have connected EVERY ONE OF THEM to BILLY ANTONCIO SANCHEZ.

Please feel free to share my FB post, PM or contact me if you have any info, I need to keep looking everywhere for more victims, I am getting new ones every day since I started this last Thursday, it has turned into a monster.

Anyone that has been contacted by someone pretending to be Jose De La Torre, Javier Marquez, Martin Ybarra, Jorge Carmona, and has sent money for *any* reason whatsoever, to anyone, please get in touch with me. This guy operates his scams via cell phone, he's in between Las Vegas, NM and Las Vegas, NV regularly. He's using multiple cell phone numbers. There are victims all over the country, dating back to 2015. This guy is actively scamming people right now. The agency that originally prosecuted him in 2008 is opening a new investigation, victims need to come forward.
He's got an accomplice, Kevin Padilla, who is acting as a hauler and demanding money.
Sanchez and Padilla are using these phone numbers:
915-352-1633
505-220-7203
562-361-0511
915-888-7879
**update- He's impersonating Martin Orona Sr also, as well as jockeys**

This story is from 2009 when he was convicted for fraud:
https://www.abqjournal.com/…/09125559552riorancho07-09-09.h…
"According to a criminal complaint, Sanchez contacted victims by cell phone and asked about having some of his horses trained. An agreement would be reached.
A short time later, Sanchez would call back and say he had horses to sell and offer a horse or a percentage of a horse to them.
Using his knowledge of the horse racing industry and information he obtained from the Internet, Sanchez would then provide factual information to people he contacted and gain their trust.
When someone agreed to purchase a horse, he would assure them the appropriate paperwork would be faxed upon receipt of a deposit or sale money.
Sanchez would wire the deposit or sales money to various bank accounts he opened, according to the complaint. When the money was received by the bank, Sanchez would remove the money.
The victims would then attempt to contact Sanchez after wiring the money, but Sanchez never returned calls or faxed documentation. Sanchez would often change his cell phone numbers and, in some cases, cell phone providers."
