The mare is mostly western pleasure, trail horse background. The sire came from longer distance racing horses, in other words not sprinters.

The only run on the paint side is Cherokee Indian and that is back aways.

Thanks guys that’s all I found too. The guy is getting out of racing horses and is pretty much trying to give them to my husband. I’m trying to put the end to it; there’s nothing more expensive than a free horse ;)

Around here you can't give paint horses away. If one is solid color, you just about have to pay someone to take them. Sad thing is there really are a lot of solids running Barrels and no one knows they are paints.

Forget Cherokee Indian. Sacred Indian was the cats meow of the paint horse world. I would have given a first born back in the day to have a daughter of his. Still back there in your pedigree a ways, but bred decent for a show horse. Barrel horse not so much.

Is the mare broke? Since shes a solid he wont get much for her unless broke he might get a bit more for her. Does the baby have color? Just curious

I'm curious as to why it's that way with paint horses.? I actually have a paint but it's really hard to see it, unless he gets wet from a bath or sweating. I've heard lots of people don't like paints but I never understood why. Hopefully someone can explain. Maybe I'm missing something? ? I quite enjoy mine lol!

Both are solid. The mare is broke supposedly. The colt is pretty flashy, long legs, dark brown, and a wide blaze.

The paint in my Avatar is Res world Champion in pole bending and top ten in barrels. The third time he was ever run in an open he was top of the 2D. (then I started riding him! laughing) I think they just kind of fall in and out of fashion. Who knows. There are a lot of solid paints out there that can take you to the cleaners but since they are solid no one realizes they are paints.

If you know of anyone giving one away around here that can run, send them my way. We love ours. He is 17 and still running strong.

I had one that I swear came up from the depths of hell. She soured me on them. But other than that I have no good reason. Heck, a lot of them outrun me!
