Location: Montana | This gelding I just got is a fast mover...he is really broke, but he can practically turn me my out of the saddle and he's fast! I ride in a Courts barrel saddle with an LM style tree, t has regular swells with a 5" cantle, and I feel like I need this height of cantle with him because he takes off fast too. He has really tall withers, but overall is a more narrow horse. The saddle is FQHB with 7" gullet, and it fits us both good other than the turning. I've been working out and trying to make me core and leg strength better, but this horse has some serious moves!
So, as the title says, barrel saddles with cutter swells with 5" cantle? |

| I would look at the new Team Camarillo saddles made by Reinsman. Cutter swells and horn, flat cutter seat, almost 5" cantle. I love it. It sits you very square and balanced, but with good freedom in the leg. It is a wide tree, but it has fit everything I've put it on.
Contact Felicia at Horse Tack World. Pretty sure you can buy and try for 2 weeks and if it doesn't work, send back and get a refund. There was a used one listed on here for sale also.

Thanks, I was thinking about those when I made this post...I almost bought one about 8 months ago, but ended up getting a steal of a deal on a Reinsman Marlene McRae for my other horse, and the swells on it are more like a cutter, but it is an 8" gullet and is way too wide for my gelding. But I thought my Courts would get the job done...until I realized how fast he is. |

I like your answer! Just kidding. This horse can spin like a reiner and can literally spin me out of the saddle, even with a good seat, and he can turn just as well. I'm really excited about his future, I just want to stay on him! LOL He is fast and powerful...which is good, and I'm doing my best to become a better rider and be in better shape, but he is cool when it comes to his style. I'm getting excited to run him! |

| Jeff Smith C3. My horse is a reject cutter and WAY too quick for me. In this saddle I at least feel a little less like I'm going to fly off and die

I was going to say this too. I tried one this morning and WOW I donβt think I could get tossed forward in it if I tried, plus I felt like I was more down around him and I couldβve driven him forward all day.
Ive got more on my list to try but itβs topping it right now. |

Is the seat size on a Jeff Smith C3 pretty true to size, or do they run smaller or larger? I ride a 13.5 in a Reinsman Marlene McRae and a 14" in a Courts barrel saddle. Also, as far as bars and gullets, I didn't see many options online? Is their tree a "one size fits all" for horses like the Reinsman Team Camarillo? This horse I'm trying to fit has really big withers, so I don't want anything too wide or it will sit on his withers. |

I'd say they're pretty true to size. They have a regular fit and a wide fit. |

Location: South Dakota | WiscoRacer....Is your C3 a wide fit tree or regular? Would they work good with a flat broad backed type horse?

| I was chatting last night with Chery on FB about the C3βs, very helpful!
They are designed to fit a wide variety but come in regular and wide.
I ride a 14.5 Triple Creek and find it to feel a touch small, I tried a 15β C3 and think I would be able to comfortably go 14.5 in the C3. But the feel is so different too that might be a personal preference rather than a rule. |

Location: Montana | Thanks very much! No one around here sells them (nor the Team Camarillo) so I have to try things by guess and by golly sometimes, even though I don't want to. |

Mine is a regular and fits my horse great but he's not overly wide. They make an extra wide too if need be. |
