Questions about spurs

When I rode English, I usually wore a pair or mild spurs.
My trainer recommends me getting a pair. She said a short shank, blunt ended rowel spurs. I found these, but I don't know what a size 8 is..

Also found these, not sure what the difference is between the 1st pair..

Last one, I hate all the stuff on these, but out of the three which one is the best?

The size 8 just means the number of points on the towel
(the spinny part that touches the horse
) but that is a weird way of saying it? The rowel is also in my opinion the most important part because it is what the horse feels. If you want really mild try a rosebud rowel
(its like the ones you showed but more rounded instead of square
). It will probably help to think along the lines of the sharper the points the more aggressive the spur. With that said there really isnt much difference in the 3 you showed, just how fancy the band is :
)

What I noticed was there
position of the shank on each spur. Looks like the 2nd would do better if you have long legs, 1st for medium length legs, then the 3rd if you have shorter legs that are closer to your horses belly.

I'm 5'8 with long legs, but I like to keep my stirrups on the shorter side.

Here is what I use and love. They have a short shank and a very blunt rowel. The best part of these are the weight as they don't ride up your boot and don't need to be pinched to stay in place.
