| Hi all, we are FINALLY getting ready to leave California- going to be relocated to the Show Low/Pinetop/Lakeside area. Are there any races near here?
We are looking at just renting an apartment for a while until we get settled, so no place for our horses, yet. Are there any decent boarding stables nearby? Anything else I should know? |

There's quite a few Barrel races in the area... Holbrook, St John's...
There's a active chapter of the SWBRA..well run.
Look up Peggy McCorkle, in St Johns..
There's also a few races in my area in the southwest corner of New Mexico... Silver City, quite a few inLas Cruces, Canutillo...El Paso... plus living in St John's you can drive East and go towards Socorro ...Albuquerque, Belen.. or head north to Holbrook ...Winslow Flagstaff...
yes you have to travel but we're used to it ...??LOL...

Two PRCA rodeos in the spring and summer and they have a barrel series during the summer.

| Carrie Zankawich (Branson Rocks on here -- I think) has horse property for sale in Snowflake (about 30+/- miles from Show Low). MH, barn and turn outs. There's quite a bit do to up that horsey wise.

oh great! I actually have a friend who moved from here recently who ended up in Snowflake. LOTS of property for an INSANELY good price! (We are from SoCal- you can buy a postage stamp in a ghetto for about $450k) I know she was super excited.

So true about property prices! A colleague is selling her two homes in Arizona to buy 1 place in California after her son graduates high school!
