I've been interested in the Roohide saddles too...I'm also anxious to hear about the new Stingray saddle by Martin....I have these (3) brands that I would love to check out:

C3-Jeff Smith
Stingray-Martin
Roohide

I have had the same saddle now for about 8 years and love it. I'm just looking for something different to try...

I would highly recommend trying a Roohide! Brian is awesome to work with, he had trees when he was doing fittings and it was amazing to see how perfectly the bare tree fit my mares back, it was like it was made for her! Their quality and customer service is by far the best I've ever had, and their saddles have helped me progress as a rider and my horses are feeling good and moving freer that ever before!

Ditto, it’s hard to describe how good the Roo feels when it fits right-it kind of “wraps” your horse if that makes sense.  The second one I ordered I had to do a mold and I did not do it correctly causing the saddle to shift a little. It does not have the same  feel as my other Roo.  I am redoing the mold and shipping the saddle back to be redone, Brian said no worries or extra costs.

I loved the way the JS and TS rode but my mare is too flat backed for them  The search continues

I have 2 flat backed horses and love my Charmayne James wide tree saddles. They fit awesome.

I second this ^^^^^

Flat backed as in wide side to side or flat front to back like she needs less rock in the bars?

Less rock.  It fit her mediocre in the shoulder area but not at all through the back  Too much rock

I have a few CJ's also but they didn't fit her either.  Wide enough at the shoulder but didn't fit her back.

Try a C3. My horse is the same way, from just past his withers to the top of his croup he's as straight as a 2x4. I tried the Tami and reg JS, reg JS was the best but still had too much rock, would pop up in back and roll. Tami fit absolutely terrible. Search my name on here and you'll probably be able to find some threads with photos. The C3 fits him darn near perfect (better than the other two dozen saddles I tried) and doesn't roll.

I have ridden in every major saddle brand on the market including Semas. Coats are by far the way to go. I love the feel and the ride.

Yep, I thought the same about my Caldwell till I bought my Roo.  There is no comparison to a good fitting Roo.
