| Unsure about being barrel horses but the granddaughter we had had the most **** poor attitude. Was a wench to say the least. Have heard the same from other people with those lines also. |

Location: Home on the Range | I have a 3yo filly by a 1D Futurity & Open producing Son of Streakin La Jolla and she is quick, athletic, big motor and making a very nice barrel prospect. Never had any buck or bull, even if she sits for a few weeks. |

This. The ones I have been around have ZERO work ethic. |

Mine has an outstanding work ethic - she will go all day. One thing I have learned is to leave her alone and let her do things her way. She is an incredibly sweet mare, but she is all business when it comes time to riding, remembers everything, requires very little tuning....which I wouldn't do anyway because she has an "I got this" attitude :)

I have a grand daughter (she's out of a dtr of Streakin la Jolla) and I would say she doesn't like to work real hard. When she has a job her work ethic does improve though. She has been a natural on barrels but does NOT like to picked on or handled much. This can be a problem since she's still a little green and doesn't know her job quite as well as she thinks she does.... I would say she wouldn't take someone who was too hard on her or picky. Sometimes she makes me want to pull my hair out but we are slowly figuring out how to work together.
She's very sweet and quiet, beginners can ride her no problem on trails etc. She isn't mare-ish at all and is great to handle. My non-horse riding husband can hop on her at any time and come with me for a ride. Her full sister won quite a bit barrel racing but I don't know if she was/is the same way attitude wise. |

Location: Tex. Panhandle | I have a younger gelding by la jollas gold out of a three bars/jet smooth mare and he has a great attitude. A little lazy/poky at a walk but ask for a trot/lope or to go to work and he is very happy to do so. I've just recently started him on the pattern and he is very smart and a quick learner. He wants to please and has an easy going attitude |

Location: MN | Ive been around several that were pretty lazy to ride but once they stepped into the arena, they worked their butts off and were 1D/2D horses against tough competition. |

The own daughter I had was batsh*t crazy.
Like, psychotic, and it got worse with age. After restarting her from the ground up, TWICE, I finally said I'm done.
She was a dream to just ride around, and high loped the pattern beautifully...but ask her to run and it hit the fan. |

I have a SLJ daughter, she won $22k on the track (her mother was a RR daughter and a stakes winner over $50k) and has been a great broodmare & it sure looks like she is going to be a producer in the barrel pen. She has one daughter by FWTF that place in the Super Stakes last year, made it back to the BFA Futurity finals, has won quite a bit in open barrel races, She has a son owned by Jana Bean (a 3yo) that is already clocking 1D/2D times while being exhibitioning on the stakes. She has a 7yo that is making his mark in the team roping as an outstanding head horse. She also has a The Red Dasher coming 2 yr old, that is the bomb! She has a really nice coming a yearling FSTV that is really nice.
Streaking La Jolla mares are know to be producers of performers. |

This is my La Jollas Gold gelding 100%! I can put kids on him and he will trot around like a champ but will run his little butt off for me when I ask. I want 2 or 3 more like him! |

| Mine's not a mare but I do have an 8yr old son of streakin la jolla and he's got the best attitude. A little, "here for the party" type in public but not a mean bone in his body and really wants to please(once he gets focused).
Id take my chances on another! |

Wish I could have let her do her thing but when she wheels around to double barrel ya that's a no go from me LOL |
